I really like the new cloth map... like, a lot!
As someone who's colourblind, I take offense at this thread for being exclusionary.
They're targeting end of 2013, so you have at least 18 months to drool. ;)
I'm going to cheat and combine some pairs in a series into one entry: Star Control 2 X-Com/X-Com:TftD Civilization X-Wing/TIE Fighter Master of Magic Master of Orion/Master of Orion 2 System Shock 2 Yes, most of them are old. But so am I.
Can we get back to the Civ5 expansion, instead of wasting our time on the troll?

I played through it twice, and felt no desire to ever play it a third time. To me, it wasn't worth the $20 I paid for it. I installed the Civ5 expansion last night, but haven't had a chance to play it. I really hope they'v
Speaking of Australian movies, I really liked Animal Kingdom from a couple years ago. That's some messed up crap. ;)
Ugh, that sounds horrible. Here they only do commercials between shows, and they're just commercials for other shows on the same channel. Once a show starts, it runs to completion without interruption. May I also bitch about going to watch movie trailers on the web, and having to sit through an ad first? The trailer itself is an ad, for ____'s sake! I need to watch an ad before I can watch the ad?!

Some random responses:
I read the philosophical analysis of Prometheus in the link up above and thought it was wonderfully done but before everybody assumes "That's it!" consider there are elements in the story they might have missed.
Yeah, it may miss a few things, or even be completely off-base. But for me it put a lot of the movie into a context that made it that much more enjoyable to me. [quote who="
Yeah, my biggest criticism of the movie is that none of this is apparent. What's left is a confusing movie, with parts that don't seem to make sense or fit together. However, knowing the backstory, I can now go back and enjoy the movie a lot.
This is where reading the backstory and mythology comes in. However, I can't address the points here, because they obviously would be major spoilers. Given the backstory, and the circumstances, the reaction was 100% logical.
I love the whole Alien/Prometheus "feel" of the universe. I love the feeling of remoteness and isolation in them. Space is big. Really big. And mostly empty. And the parts that aren't empty are incredibly alien and inhospitable. These people are months from the nearest human settlement, and they only have what they brought with them. There's nowhere they can run to get help, they're completely on their own. The other life out there i
Liked the movie, but there were a few things about it that bugged me. They seemed like bizarre inconsistencies. Then I read this , and it all made a lot more sense and I like the movie even more now. (Obvious warning: lots of spoilers in that link.) In a nutshell, Ridley Scott has given various interviews about the underlying mythology and backstory of the movie, and the person who wr
I've got no problems with Steam. There are a couple of irritating things, but overall, it makes my life easier. If it also means developers get paid regularly and well, so much the better.
Bring on the Dominions 3 graphics! [e digicons][/e]
I don't know what you people are talking about. For there to be a MoO4, there would first have to be a MoO3. And such a thing does not exist (in the world in which I choose to live).
Ah, there we go. Codemasters, founded in 1986. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codemasters
I dont like always online drm, and therefore dont buy such games.
And that's a reasonable stance to take. If you dislike it, then just avoid it. This thread, however, is asking whether or not you should perceive this as some sort of moral issue so important that you should stop other people from playing these games.
Talking about the morality of an always on the internet requirement is well.. silly. What does that have to do with morality or "values?"
This. With all the things going on in the world that deserve our moral outrage and against which we should be taking a stand, whether or not a computer game needs to be connected to the company's servers while you play shouldn't even rate.
