This is an idea for a new tech for the expansion and it's usefulness. Tech: Advanced Fire Control Effect: Allows the construction of Fire Control modules, that would allow a ship to split it's attack between 1 extra target. It would do such only when it realizes that a proper percentage of its attack that it does will destroy a ship, so it would use its spare attack value to attack a second ship. If one module installed- 1/

Just curious- will the game, when it's released, be avaliable for download at midnight, or some later point in the day? If it's the late Feb release they're saying, I'll be on a mid shift- 7p,-7am, and could head home, DL, and have it finish when I wake up... I really like that you're allowing us the DL option- more companies should do this.

There's no copy protection, so you can save it to your hard drive, or write it on a DVD and play it from there. However, I don't think the final size will be that big. The hard drive is a big selling point for me, as when I played Civ IV on battery power on my laptop (power outage)- I could only get about 80 mins of gameplay on a fully charged battery. From the hard drive it should be better if there's an outage and I need something to do

Oh, I'm not expecting a finished bug-free product. I never get that except on the most simplistic games. That being said, GC1's stability was very very good. I didn't buy on release, so I don't know what it's like- I waited for it to go on sale. I'm expecting a bug level about what Civ IV had (which was minimal for me), with the patches ironing the rest out

I think if GalCiv 2's sales are strong- two compatible expansions should be released. A SP expansion worth $10, that adds all the new SP content, if any is needed. Even though I haven't played the beta, I have a strong feeling an expansion won't be needed- as modmakers will do it. A MP expansion, worth $10, that offers basic functional MP- and nothing else, with enhancements patched. My main MP game was Kohan

I just pre-ordered. I decided beforehand not to get the beta, as I knew in the past when I beta-tested, I was often disappointed in the final product, I didn't want that to ruin this game. I'm expecting a Civ IV killer though. (which means my expectations are probably insane, since civ IV is good) At the very least, I want something that doesn't clog my CD drive like that game does. My question is this however: when the game is ready- wi

How about this for a compromise idea? This idea is ganked off the old SNES game Ogre Battle. This is probably too late for GC2 regular, but maybe the expansion or GC3. You get a choice on attack orders. First (pick randomly) Leader (pick the flagship) Strongest (pick the strongest enemy ship) Weakest (pick off the weakest enemy ship) On the defense side, I'd allow ships to be escorts, and give defense to the

Expanding on this option- how about having both ships still in engagement at the end of the turn, if a sufficient number of rounds of combat didn't destory either ship? That way the ship with 0 offense is damaged some, and the other ship is still there. Yes, that means 2 empires ships in the same square, but that's doable...
