[quote quoting="post"] On a personal note, nothing pains us more than when someone accuses us of “rushing” the game. The phrase “works on my machine” is not an acceptable excuse. We just blew it on so many levels that it will require a detailed post-mortem (which I do plan to provide so players, customers, and others can learn from our mistakes in general and my personal mistakes in particular). I'm preordering now, not truly for the stuff although it's neat (and will probably end up on a shelf or in a box with a bunch of other stuff), but because I like what I get when I give Stardock money. Speaking with my wallet is sometimes the loudest shout of all. :)

Build out your lore in this first game as much as possible. Devote your energies to the Canon races and factions and using them as tools to tell your story. The extra customization and custom created races can can later. Speaking as someone who has "the faith" when it comes to Stardock, I know the awesomeness that you all will produce in your expansions. Custom races would be a wow-bang feature and an expansion would give you time to see how people are actually playing the game, which I thin

Just want to reiterate what others have been saying. I much prefer waiting for a polished product with lots of goodies than have a product rushed to release while still really in Beta (Civ III anyone?). The fact that this product has been transparent and honest has made it all better. Having been playing through the various betas, I can say that it feels like I've gotten an entirely new game with familiar mechanics. The work that has gone into this has been incredible. Thank

You guys are very deserving of this because the game you make is incredible and has had better replay value than 99% of the games I own. I preordered the Beta of Twilight because of the confidence I have in what you do and is one of the best purchases I've made this year. Keep it up! I hope you make it to #1 with your fantasy/magic strategy game project. :)

This is why you should not but "indy" games. I've never been much of a cheerleader, but I have to say that the best and most detailed support on this issue has come from Stardock from what I've seen. This thread was started by Stardock, being very honest and upfront about the problems. It's encouraged me to definitely buy more Stardock, if not "indy" games in general. This is the first major issue I've had with

People, I think it's alright for nVidia not to have fully up-to-date, compatible drivers for Vista and every single 3D game - Vista IS bleeding edge, after all. I have to disagree. Vista has been in RTM since November, and RC2 since October and this after a five year development cycle. It was available to enterprises since the end of November. I have no sympathy for nVidia, Apple ("Vista will break your iPod!"), or any o
