A quick way to explore a galaxy is to start the game w/ the victory condition being "last flagship standing". When you scuttle your Kol the defeat window comes up and you can hit "continue" to reveal the entire map. ! Thanks, I'll have to do that... right after I finish this current game.

What bothered me a lot was the cultural influence making it impossible to conquer certain planets. Tweaking that featuer is one of the things the devs are working on -- they know its waaaay overpowered ATM. Is basically meant to slow down your progress into an enemy empire. If you kill the entire enemy empire, they're culture will dissapear, though. If it hasn't, you must have missed a patch.

I've had this happen too, what seems to happen is that the line is so long, one end or mid point of the formation is just weirdly in the gravity well, and one ship is just kind of fidgeting to make room it seem the AI just sends one of the ships in front of the main armada and into phase jump, clearing space for the straggler. Thats very annoying... It can be avoided by having your fleet split into 2 or 3 groups instead of 1 huge group, bu

wait... is it just a little wierd that the three best-o-friends end up in the same family? How is Hermione going to explain to her children that she had a crush on their uncle... Not all that wierd. Harry married Ron's sister, then Ron married Hermione. A little weird to "look-back" on, but not a lot. Its not like brothers-in-law(-in-law!) are taboo! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smile

yes, but its a dangerous little patch. I wish I had the courage and expertise to work with it. Dangerous? Maybe I should go back and look at it closer... do you mean the fact that you have to fiddle with OS startup stuff? Yes, the E6600 is a great buy. It can p

why would I then risk an update of the chipset? Because, as a beta-tester, you want to experiment and provide information to the devs. They aren't asking you to do something ir-reversable, just try and poke and see if it fixes something. And then you can revert to your old stuff easily enough. (Heck, there's a built in windows function for that now!)

Oh, ok, yeah, they were the pirates that hang around planets. I didn't realize "marauders" referred specifically to the spawning ones. Thanks. An option to turn off the regular pirates in the full game would still be nice. They're not hard to deal with, they're just annoying. They're there to be speed bumps, they're supposed to be annoying <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" bor

I highly doubt players are going to want to play a 3-15 hour multiplayer matchup (I just played a 9 hour single player game in a large universe setting) So play a smaller map. The AI, I believe, is incredibly stupid on hard difficulty and I beat them my first try without problem. Known "issue": the devs are still working on the AI. Examples are useful, bashing them for having an AI the match of most ga

If your talking about what I THINK your talking about (the bar to the left side of any system you have ships in) that bar actually controls all ships in system, not any given fleet. It would be nice to be able to select individual ships using it, though.

Starting w/ one player per team appears to correctly split up the planet and player locations so that each star is equally populated. Nope, in my current map there are as many teams as players... and of the five thoroughly explored stars, 2 had 2 empires, 3 had none... there are some more stars past that that I'm flooding with scouts now, but...

Amongst other things, you have to host them on a website -- we can't access your computer remotely, and thats what ONE of those links is trying to do.

Yes, the E6600 is a great buy. It can pretty much chug through anything SupCom throws at it (unless you try playing against 7 Supreme AIs on one machine...the game slowed down to about a tenth its normal speed before crashing... ). For me, the only real cap on the game is my graphics card (Ge

Let's imagine a $40 game that gives the actual creators $5 back per box sold (wouldn't be surprised if that's a generous estimate), as opposed to $20 if sold online. I think selling that game for $30 online is only fair. They're still getting at least twice as much income from me. Problem is, Wal-Mart and other stores don't want them to do that, because then no one would buy from them. So if anyone did try to sell at that price online, they'd loose the

Um, if you increase the render distance it won't help any, because they're invisible (too small to see) at much higher than the current render distance. All they are is dots at the moment, and you want what? No-dots?
