Get that cake back up there! Nice surprise for your hubby. Who likes housework? Not me but I know that if I don't keep it up, things get messy and I hate mess worse than housework.

I find this post one of great insight and wisdom.
Neat post. Thanks. They made me smile.
Again, a wonderfully funny and insightful post. My mom used to hide the cake that she needed to save for a special purpose right in the pan. She would then put the pan with the cooled unfrosted cake right back on the big hook on the side of her cupboard. We could always smell the fresh cake but it took us a long time to find this clever hiding place.
TexasWoman, I don't mean to tout my own blog but I just posted my 50th article in celebration of Thanksgiving. If you have time to read it, there might be some thoughts there that can raise your spirits on high... This is my prayer for you today.
I am sure that it has to start with the boss who then selects people with good attitudes toward leadership, teamwork and high work ethics. Congratulations on the growth of the company and for providing all of us JU with a place to post our thoughts.
If you have ever said these words: “I am not a religious person,” what does that mean to you? It is true that there are some “religious” people who are the very dregs of the human race. They ridicule, persecute, kill, maim, mock and try to destroy anyone who does not believe as they do. Perhaps the worst kinds of evils have originated from the
I am so sorry if I hurt your feelings. I just seem to have a knack for irritating you. I did not mean to imply you were on pills. I just meant that pills are so often percribed to cure things that can be helped by taking a little time for yourself. In schools now when children act out, some teachers will ask parents to put their child on some drug. In some cases it may be needed. In others there could be other more helpful remedies. I mean it when I sa
SSG Geezer...Thanks for your comments. Your phrase: "Although I am not a very religious person" has inspired some thoughts for a future blog. I don't want you to think that I am in any way judging you or anyone else. You might be surprised what I think of some called "religious" people.
SSG Geezer, Is the second photo one of you? If so, you are really cute.
xtine, I am not sure I understand why you are shaking in your boots. Are you afraid you will not get the extra work? afraid that he will hire someone else and will eventualy replace you? You did a good thing by presenting your request for more work if you feel you have the time and energy to do it. Now it is really out of your hands. Sometimes taking a little time out to just breathe deeply and relax will be more beneficial than another pill. You have
I guess we can get upset about just about anything because we have to deal daily with people. If it weren't for people like me and other imperfect souls, this world would not be half bad. These are the things the flame the Lord of love: Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, yes, and the seventh is an abomination to him; 1) Haughty eyes, 2) a lying tongue, 3) hands that shed innocent blood; 4) a heart that plots wicked sche
At this time of year people seem to be on the lookout for things for which to be thankful. You have found three great ones. (We just bought Elf also but haven't seen it yet. Been busy watching Shrek and Shrek 2. Great!) I am pleasantly surprised that I can get up each morning with no aches and pains and to be able to do my exercises.
Courage my dear! Soon all the pain and waiting will be replaced with the joy of seeing a new little one that will be an awesome replica of you and your husband. Keep your peace even while it is difficult to wait. My prayers are with you.
Pseudosoldier, Not to worry about those old gods...We don't have to worry about trying to balance the scales...hoping our good deeds will outweigh the bad...that kind of salvation is for those not so nice gods...We have a gracious God who loved us first even while we were sinners...sarcastic, lonely, lustful, drunk. He loves us all.
Happy cooking and Happy Thanksgiving! Nectar of the gods? Here is the story of my experience with "Jim Crow". One day a bunch of us, boys as well as girls (ages about 11 or 12), got the idea that we should see what it was like to drink some booze. We collected all the pennies we owned and gave them to two girls whose father owned the town’s liquor store. They were to smuggle out a bottle of liquor while their dad was not looking and put the money
Sorry about your Dad, Spc NS. Keep up the exercise. One side of my family has heavy genes. I have lost more weight than a scale can measure... and then gained it back...and lost ...and gained...until the last three years. I have lost 60 lbs and I am keeping it off by jogging on my mini rebounder every day for at least 20 minutes keeping my average heart beat up to nearly its maximum health rate for my age and present weight. I like the rebounder becaus
Happy Birthday, Spc NS, have greywar share some of the goodies I sent to him. Hickory Farms was supposed to get one package there on time for his birthday but did not. Now they tell he will get it Monday if he is home to receive the package. (I am getting the feeling that it is not so smart to order from them as they want to deliver during the day. Soldiers are not home during the day! Too late smart!
Thanks for another insightful post.
Thanks again, Chiprj, if we can always count our blessings it would make life so much more pleasant. God bless you.
There are many great memories from those days spent in Oakes. The people were so great. They always supported the teachers in dealing with the children. To this day I still have many of those students who keep in touch with me on a regular basis. Of the many good people I remember, one little fellow, Billy, holds a spot in my heart.. He was small for his ag
Thanks for the link to Mathew Heidt's view on what may have taken place. In my opinion, it is a clear-sighted, sympathic and sane assessment.
Never mind if people roll their eyes or shake their heads. You have so much to be confident about there is never any need for you to worry about those who don't always approve of your ways, thoughts and beliefs. What do people usually mean when they roll their eyes. I bet you could write a great blog about that. I loved the very poetic way you described the drive home through the fog and your sighting of the deer. Sheer poetry! Use your great
Really? That is not the xtine I have come to know over time. In my opinion you have always been very fast on your feet...or off the cuff. And I know you are capable of learning many new things...even swimming.
One suggestion...Just be yourself. You are unique in all this world. (Quote from "The Little Prince") You have no duplicate of you in this entire world. The world needs you.
