I saw it today in the Stardock Magazine August 2007 email. Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor. New expansion pack coming out this November. Details will be up on Gamespot next week. Keep an eye on galciv2.com for updates. It will require Dark Avatar (or Gold Edition) to use. . . . The unannounced fantasy game. Stardock is working on a fantasy strategy game that could be described as a bit of Master of Magic (okay, a lot of Master of Magic), XCom for

I initially had trouble running the program. I looked in the "C:\Program Files\Galciv2 Map Editor" folder and edited the "Galactic Civilizations Map Editor.exe.config" file to point to my Galciv2 folder, and all went well after that. The other difficulty I had with the program was the planet mapping and assigning. What I ended up doing was to use the other map editor available (GC2Builder) to lay out the stars and planets where I want them, and then go back and tweak the settings in t

What GalCiv2 ships would you use when converting from GalCiv 1? For reasons related to the tech tree, I'm only looking at a couple of GC1 ships. I'm trying to convert a couple of scenarios and I'm cross referencing begining tech's and ship requirements. I understand that it's not going to be exact and that there are differences due to gameplay, ship building, economy... Here's a quick comparison based on name/role. GC1 (cst, mnt / att,def / hp,spd / rng) GC2 (cs

I'd been unable to login to either here or wincustomize for quite a while. It'd been over a month. Today I figured it out. In the begining I could log into Galciv2, but I couldn't access the forums. I couldn't access Wincustomize.com at all if I tried to log in. More recently, I couldn't log into Galciv2 at all. The error message was different than the other sorry... pages, it was an actual error message. The message (.net debug code), indicated that it was having a problem with on

I've recently purchased, registered, and downloaded Galactic Civilizations II. By default, it seems, Stardock Central presented the 1.3 beta for download. I haven't really noticed anything buggy or unusual with the beta, and small issues aren't a big deal. I am, however, just learning the game. At this point I really don't know what's different, changed, bugged, or fixed, so: Is there any reason to update (downdate?) and play with 1.2, rather than the 1.3 beta?

This may help some somebody: I bought GalCiv2 from stardock. I created an account at Total Gaming with my email address and the username Leo Powers to make the purchase. I changed my Stardock.net email to my current one (I'd moved since I used it last and OD expired) I dowloaded the client linked in the email, and installed it. I loged in to Stardock Central with my existing account with my current email and my old user name Capt_Tripps. I download and reg
