I thought I posted this but it looks like I didn't but thank you for the reply. It was very helpful to he point that I use it as a reference when I'm making my dreams. My only issue now is saving in AVI format. Every time I try to save in AVI, it turns my HD video into a 720x480 size. I wanted to do 4K videos too and it does the same thing with that also. Might be that I'm using Video Studio by Corel and I need a better version or a different program to get what I want done. A
Back in the day, say around the 2001-2005 era, WindowBlinds skinners would have all sorts of wild ideas. I mean its not like it doesn't get wild today every once and a while, but back then, it could get super wild. For me I split the video in half, move the last half to the front and use a transition (adorage) to fuse the two together. I figured since the split part should just auto match up there shouldn't be a problem because the new end of the video was originally cut from the new beginning...

I remember a time when a bunch of skinning sites had skins for their websites as well. I can imagine it would take some load on the servers to do it so that probably why no one does it anymore, plus the time and effort to maintain it. It would be a cool feature for subscribers to WinCustomize but I do wonder if the subscription would really cover the costs to do it.

Hello everyone! It's nice to be back. I've been around since 2001/2 (I can't remeber) and I've seen some things. I used to change the way my desktop looked everyday for at least 2 years, then it was every 2 days... then once a week... now it's more like I'll change my DreamScapes wallpaper every few days or so and that's it. Totally forgot about WinStep. Its like Object Bar (that I loved before it went into the dustbin of coding history). WinStep may help (or just be fun) to have on my desktop. I'm mainly on my laptop(s) though. I try to keep it simple with Fences, CursorFX, Deskscapes, and WinFX (the other apps are deprecated like KeepSafe but I still use it), but maybe WinStep can help me get weather, system info, and 2 thinking I really want; a nice big clock and a nice big calendar.
I'm not the kind of guy who has allot of icons on my desktop but after installing fences I became "that guy". Its so freakin easy. On my laptop surface 3 is even better because the screen is so small. Pages, fences with live views of folders, double click hide/reveal, its a great organization tool. Although I miss object bar greatly, this is a nice substitute (that you can't "skin"). oh object bar... how I wish you were still being updated
ok thank you for the help. i probably thinking I had the version that allowed you to control 3 computers if you get it and are a one year subscriber to object desktop. I definitely have the KM version (verson 3.42 KM build 0080). I'll email them to see what can be done. at least get the regular functionality back working. Again thanks for your help!

I actually didn't change any settings when it worked the first time Allot of the areas grey'ed out was always grey'ed out. I took a look to see if the ports were open for the program to work and they were. Set up encryption key is greyed, allow files to be transferred is greyed
I would have not posted this hea but for whatever reason sending an email to stardock or edge runner keeps bouncing back. I keep getting an error message saying that my encryption key is incorrect. I go to the primary computer and the encryption key button is faded out. I can't access it for any changes. Whats odd is that everything worked when I originally installed the program. What can I do? Hello everyone out there in customization land! I am wondering if anyone is making a WindowbBlinds theme that has big max/min and exit buttons so I can put it on my mothers commuter as well as mine. For my mom it would make it easier to close stuff and minimize while for me I have a Dell XPS 12 touch screen so having bigger buttons would be helpful (although Microsoft, to their credit, fixed many issues with missing the buttons when you touch them) <
I read on another thread that a possible fix was to type in the location aka "hardcode" the shortcut.
The only suggestion I can offer about this and the issues some people have verses other not having any issues is this: Many times when I had issues with Stardock software it was because something was "off" about my system. It could be registry errors, a program that needed to be deleted, or I had a virus/spam/whatever that needs to be taken out. That never happened to me. Did you uninstall and then re-install? A side note: Because I have a touch screen I am seriously considering switching from Fences to ObjectDock. Unless Fences has a "one click" function I have yet to see, ObjecDock will do allot of the stuff Fences does and look cooler. I would run both but I'm not a fan of having allot of installed software on my computer if I can avoid it.
This is great cause the Brooklyn Botanical gardens cherry blossom trees are in bloom. Would love to take a few videos and make dreams out of them. Windows 8 doesn't have mpeg2 by default though. Will that be a problem?
Any setting for having a default page? I used the pages because I use my laptop for personal and business stuff. so when I use my business account I have a fences business page and a personal page. But it keeps going to the personal page when I sign on. I havent seen it in the setting so far and I am almost sure its there somewhere.
I hope so because I truly need a custom cursor for my laptop. It is not big enough and hard to find. For me the most needed apps are KeepSafe, Fences, Start8, ObjectDock (love it with touch screen laptop) and Modern Mix (I run DesktopX, Decor8, and Windows FX but that's not really needed). If I had Cursor 8 (I guess that is what it would be called) that would complete my customization of my touch screen.
