No apology needed. If you have to make a beta 1zzz I wouldn't care. What I like is that it shows that YOU care about putting out a polished product. Something MOST developers no longer worry about. I am confindent that when Elemental is released, it will be at the best possible state that you could create. Sure, there will be some patches and maybe even balance issues worked out post launch, but the launch title will be stable and fun! That's all that

"Hmmm. I have 20 games to review this week. What's this? A turn based game? I guess I'll play it for 10 minutes and see if it's any good..." "Why are you wasting time with that game? Atari just gave us more bags of money. Work on one of their titles. Give it to Joey." "But Joey's a halo junkie who hates anything turn based or has the word "strategy" in it." "Then it will be an unbiased review then, right?" Elemental: War of M
hmm. i'll have to turn off autosave and try this. the sad thing is, with it ctd, autosave is the only way to make sure you don't lose progress... [e digicons]XD[/e]
Yes, still happening to me after two updates. This appears to be a windows xp problem? I played the game at home on win 7 x64 with 0 problems.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but will there be a PBE (play by e-mail) or multi-player save feature? Some of us at times (with small children) don't have a lot of time to sit in front of a multi-player game for hours on end. Will there be a way to save the match so that a two player match can be continued? Or a take a turn, email, take a turn, email setup? Sure, it would take months to play a game this way, but some of us are far to busy for a live multi-player m
I too, got this to happen to me on friday (before friday's new build and saturday's) and have yet to try it again today. However I go no debug file or dump file, no error message or no crash report at all. It simply CTD when I hit end turn and that was it. Win XP 2 gig ram Nvidia 9500 Intel Dual core I'll post an update after I play it today to see if it continues this behavior with the new builds.
I feel that the developers are unnecessarily evil in placing the "Are you sure you want to quit? A few more turns couldn't hurt" message when you quit the game. The game is evil enough at consuming 100% of my free time. Now they want 110% of it?
As long as the beta goes out before 5pm on a given day, we can charge preorders same day.
Wow.. Coders that quit each day at 5pm? What kind of alternate universe do you live in where "the man" doesn't force you to keep a cot at your cubicle and bug fix until 5am? It must be pleasant there and smell of amaretto carrots.
The problem with Civ V is that well... it's Civ V. It will bring a few new features to the game, but it will still be a civ game. There's nothing wrong with that, but given the choice I would pick EWOM every time.
I can honestly say that I have NEVER been "aroused" by a forum post... Until now! This preview shows that this game is everything I hoped it could be and more. I now actually fear for it's release because I'm going to fall into the rabbit hole and never come out.
I love this idea of a cloth map and making it 100% playable on that map. That way if you have horrible system requirements you can still enjoy this game.
