Quoting Frogboy, reply 12Well, one of the things I'm looking forward to starting in January is having two of the top industry designers on hand to address this. As you guys know, I'm an AI guy. Not a designer. I just want to play the damn game.Even with designers, do please remember to listen to users. Professional designers are great, but part of the appeal of Stardock games, at least for me, is that I can suggest things and, as
A long awaited moment. The recent betas have been rock solid and the direction of gameplay is good.
Today's update is even more solid. There was a crash bug with the improvement list that got fixed (that's been the #1 crash bug during the betas) and there was a deadlock (game locks up) that got fixed today. I love my job these days. My job is to crash the game. I'm so good at that.

Not necessary. Random House is currently working on new content for the next parts for owners of the book. The stuff is amazing. I bow to their excellence.

Elemental has demons, dragons, drath, etc. that one can research up to. That said, I think there's a real pacing issue that needs to be addressed in the future. I am not convinced that we need 5 different tech trees. I could almost imagine it broken down to 3 like: Civilization Lore Magic where Warfare, Diplomacy, Adventure and Magic get split into these areas. Or put another way, the 3 basic means to victory should be the paths
What is the point of this thread? The game looks exactly the same as it did on release. What am I missing here????????
The purpose of this thread is to help people who are NEW to the game entirely have an understanding of the basics of the game. If you want to know what's in v1.1 over the previous version, you'll need to look at the change log.
I thought that anyone who purchased before Oct was getting the 1st and 2nd expansion for free, while those who purchased after Oct but before the year's end were getting the 1st expansion free.
Everyone who purchased before November 1 get both expansions. People who purchase after Nov 1 but before Jan 1 will still get the first one.

Yep. We'll be talking about v1.2 right after v1.1 goes out. My *personal* short list includes: . Getting the AI better at building grops . Better unit design by AI players . Better city specialization . More awareness prediction of enemy destinations . MUCH better diplomacy So as much as you guys may like v1.1, v1.19 betas (for those who want to play the test builds) will begin right after Christmas I suspect.
For shits and giggles I tried introducing a mod mechanic that would give the AI comparable levels of metal to that of their materials. The AI still produced lower quality gear, even when higher quality was available. So I assumed a theory that the AI would always produce units when it could, with the highest quality. This would lead to it perpetually being out of one resource, as there would always be a limiter. But this was not so. E

End.
No. You have to find a beach. Then you have to build a city. Then you have to build a harbor. Then you build a ship. Then you have to load units onto the ship. Then you have to find another beach to unload the units. That's a lot of work. In Civ V,

I wonder if I've seen his posts here... I've gotta hand it to you, Brad. I'm starting to see where this thing is goin'. Building a solid infrastructure to allow the mod community to content the crap out of this will be a real future money maker for you guys. I
Frogboy, do you guys include polish and cleanliness with "stability?" Because I think that's almost two separate conversations. Stability wise, it's almost there. Polish wise, it has a way to go IMO.
Each update will continue to polish the game and so on. But that's not a go, no-go issue on releasing a particular update as long as it hasn't regressed.
Stupid question here. Are AI changes added each patch like crashfixes or are they only added when specifically mentioned in changelog? I'm so glad Stardock has such great post-release support. I wish I could go a few months in the future and play an Elemental I won't even recognize, while a lot of developer/publishers out there simply drop all support post-release as if they never were involved in the game in the first
