Who is running 64-bit Windows right now?

Just curious about active forum goers.

Are you running 64-bit Windows right now? If so, do you use your system for gaming?

Would you be more likely to buy a game that is 64-bit aware?

I am, and probably if it were a good single player strategy game. I really don't use my system for gaming, though.

I have a number of high end games, but it's mainly for work.

Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. Some newer games really give my 8800GT a workout but I'll be gaming with it as long as it holds up. Then I'll be staring at a black screen. <X3

I'm not sure what all the benefits would be, but I have an AMD Quad Core with 4GB RAM so if that means maximizing my gameplay....absolutely.

No - honestly, everything runs pretty damn well on my rig as is.  64 bit sounds great, but it really isn't a huge factor for me and I certainly wouldn't just buy a game because its 64 bit.  It would catch my eye at least and I'd certainly look closely at the game, though.

64 bit Win 7

Yes

Absolutely, especially if it were a strategy title that could use the additional memory and 64 bit architecture for bigger maps.

Maybe: Like pacov said, I'd look into the game more than I would if it wasn't 64-bit, but it has to be a game that I'm interested in for me to actually want to buy it. I'm not going to buy a game just because it's 64-bit. But if there are two similar games, one 64-bit and one not, I'd be more inclined to go with the 64-bit one (other things being equal).

Not necessarily, gameplay trumps graphics.

I'm running 64-bit, and have for the last 3 years. I use the system for gaming.

No, I wouldn't. Being 64-bit aware or not is not a consideration. What the game can do with that is a consideration. A 64-bit aware program is only impressive if it pushes the envelope. If there is no discernable difference, I don't care one way or the other if it is 64-bit aware.

In other words, for me to go out and buy something because of its capabilities, those capabilities must be clearly outlined. And just saying 64-bit aware is in itself not a feature. Double the map size is. Double the amount of AI factions is. 50% longer view radius in an MMO is. And so on. Prove that you can use the extra memory for something, and THEN you have a selling point.

Yes, I have Win 7 64 bit

Yes, I have a fair number of games installed.

Yes, a 64bit game could be interesting.  More possibilities with DirectX 11 and a 64 bit app than DirectX 9.0C and a 32 bit app.

win7 - 64 bit

yes

I'm not really sure if the games that I have run are 64 bit games. I do know that my 64 bit IE8 browser duplicated itself in 32 bit format and set itself as my default browser.

Not really, game play is far more important.

64 bit Win 7 Home Premium

No and no. I use my machine for graphics only. No games installed and no plans on buying any.

Win 64 Ultimate, on an AMD Phenom quad core.

I do all sorts of gaming.

Specifically 64 bit isn't a thing I look for, but I'm happy to see it.

Win7 64-bit Lenovo- I bought this game purposely to game with. I don't think I'd buy a game because it's 64-bit aware, unless I was already interested in the game because it looked like something I'd like.

More-or-less, 64-bit aware, for me, would generally be icing to it, should the game in question be something I'm interested in.

One of each (32 bit and 64) and yes a 64 bit aware game wins hand down if it brings performance/feature or stability improvements.

My work necessitates "moving up" and 64 bit is here whether I like it or not...and to quote my 16 year old son when I catch him on my computer and ask him, "Why not your own?", his answer is, "Yours is way faster."...32 vs. 64.
