Are there sea creatures in FE?
With all this talk of the "world" in FE, will the oceans actually be worth exploring and stuff? Will there be rivers?

This is certainly an area that needs work compared to WoM, far moreso even than the land areas.
At least, I imagine the Elemental Lord of Water should necessitate something here, but I hope we can get more than that.
welp... I think you just thought of the 3rd game for SD right there... Elemental: Lords of the Sea!
Give us TROUTS!!! Yummy...
... sea combat... does it even exist?
just imagine.. you have 1 ship and then you have another ship... do they shoot stuff from far away? do they board each other? do they board each other with the troops carried inside?
Sharks with freakin laser beams I want!
Dude, you beat me to it.
I'd settle for ill tempered mutated Chilean sea bass myself.
I want a kracken mount.
Actually having 2 fully water-based races would be really cool, like they did in Alpha Centauri.
Real men ride dolphins to war!
hyperpisci-hypoviri
Fish on the top dude on the bottom, aww yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
then you terraform their water into land (or volcano) and kill them all?
Which is why, in my opinion, they should either axe terraforming, limit the effects or make it extremely expensive.
What are you talking about... Magma dolphins ride the fire. Spirit dolphins ride on land.
You forgot sand dolphins, the lesser known close cousin of sand sharks.
In all seriousness I think a simple naval system would be cool and fairly simple to add. Just add the ability for AI's to use ships, the ability for ships to attack each other and have the armies duke it out on a new ship tactical battlefield. Then the devs or even modders could add sea resources(that require a harbor), and sea monsters and pirates that simply board your ship and start a tactical battle with the transports contents.
Ya dedicated sea units and combat ships would be cool, but my idea would be fairly easy to implement.
Well, if they follow their trned sso far, I imagine that WoM will have water removed in a future patch and FE won't have water in it at all. ![]()

I'm sure if you look, you'll find them in the files. ![]()
Water is so completely meaningless right now that if they did that, would you actually notice a difference? ![]()
I'd have to play the game to notice, and I don't any more.
From 1.3 notes...
lol, you totally called it!
No, I wouldn't miss water... I would probably create a world closely resembling something from the Dark Suns D&D campaign, just a massive desert. I'd even make a full complement of factions to go along with it so we can have the Preservers and Defilers against each other. Hell, I'll do that tonight. Long live the Veiled Alliance!
I wouldn't mind water not being accessible due to some explanation in the storyline. If there isn't enough time to make water gameplay add value to the game, I'm fine with leaving it out.
mandbirdfish hybrid plz
I think water is essential to make Elemental the best game ever, and that is what it shall be, nothing less. My guess is they will not implemet great stuff at sea just now, but later on. It's needed to make the game feel complete, and to increase replayability with more different kinds of maps, like islands and continents. And of course: sea exploration, quests limited to the sea, and naval landings etc. makes for more interesting strategies in itself.
An expansion with a lot of water stuff would be excellent. I'd prefer if it just wasn't tacked on.
Yes; Fallen E. first, then improved dynasties and sea stuff, continued AI development and diplomacy improvements. Then some day we will have the best 4x game ever. One that won't be challenged for centuries to come, or at least won't be challenged until Elemental II sees the light of day.
