What do you hope to see in v1.4 or v1.5 of EWOM?

Me I hope to see more options for city leveling, right now... we have three options, magic research, research and money bonuses. I'd love to see bonuses for other resources, metal, materials, food production, heck possibly even horses or wargs bonus production increases.

also has anyone noticed when you raze a settlement that there are left over rubble? that rubble prevents you from constructing on the tile which is rather annoying, I'd love to see that removed or be able to clear the tile and then be able to construct on it again. These are but a few things I'd like to see, but I'm sure there are other things others would like to see, suggestions and thoughts anyone? what would YOU like to see in coming updates? besides obvious stuff we already know will be coming and or fixed.

The thing I would like to see the most is a rework of diplomacy. It's kinda broken right now. Also the late game economy really needs a fix.

I would like to see late-game AI much improved. The AI can hold its own right now up until the very last techs, but once I get there the AI can't put anything against me.

Hmmm... thought of another... though this could probably be supplemented by a mod for now

more variety of research in the war tree for weapons. I mean there is only one spear type weapon in the whole game. Wooden spear and Boar Spear, I'd like to see more types of polearm weapons, swords, axes, staff's and other types of weapons have updates and stuff later on the tech tree but spears... you don't see that.

To EternalReqium: There is already a low level area effect spell called 'Revive Land' which will clear the rubble tiles and allow you to build on them as normal. I use it all the time as it is very handy when you want to use a resource but don't want to be stuck with a gimped city (as most other faction cities are).

They are both on separate tracks, so work on one does'nt affect the other.

Ironically I just did something like this in my Tactical Rebalance Mod v.09. Try it out if you want I just finished updating it and could use some feedback.

Quoting Pantasd:" I know but why would someone play elemental 1.5 if there is an expansion pack avaibel ?"

Because Frogboy has stated serval times that EWOM and FE will be 2 entirely different games in terms of focus and content.

His goal is to make EWOM a very enjoyable game in its own right.

After all, EWOM was his vision and he's the kind of person to stick with it until he's truly satisfied with the end product.

I think some of us will always like playing it no matter where the new versions go.

I get the feeling they will be complimentary games vs. competitive - meaning the users will feel like they are two distinct games. Thus, EWOM may not be forgotten if loading up either game is a different experience. I'll probably play both with the majority of my time dedicated to the game that's more fun.

I doubt they will be completely different but the devs have mentioned enough for us to surmise that they are certainly not clones. And sometimes its the small things that matter. I might enjoy War of Magic and loathe Fallen Enchantress depending on the changes made.

An opinion I'm sure is shared by others. This doesn't explain your HOPING that Stardock halt all support on War of Magic.

How about we stay on topic please... I didn't create this thread so people could rant away from the topic I created it for. And yeah you have all your rights and stuff to rant away if you want... don't hijack a thread for your own sick game of wanting to derail a thread, best go make your own rant thread if you want to do that >_>. And yeah... I know that's pretty nazi like an all but I've dealt with that kind of stuff a lot before, I help run a forum and all.

I myself am looking forward to FE but for the moment we have EWOM and FE most likely won't be out for another 5 months or so... (aside alpha/beta testing if they have that)

Splitting limited resources two ways instead of focusing on one thing (FE) doesn't strike me as the best of plans either. The people working on WoM could instead be working on something like making MP in FE not-terrible (something which will likely never happen in WoM).

I know but this explains nothing. I'm still frowning at the fact that you're HOPING 1.3 will flop.

Sorry Eternal, I'll drop it.

Think of WOM as a testing ground for cool ideas that may or may not make it into FE. Like minimum squad sizes of 4, clairvoyance, etc.

Indeed, I can't wait for that to happen.

just thought of something else I'd like to see fixed... though this might not even be possible.

Currently buildings or any props in general when placed on a hill... don't bend or mold in with the rounded surface of the hill, that being that you have buildings particularly in the hill or are basically having their edges hanging over the corner. I'd love to see the building work flow with the surrounding land and such. A good example of this you can find in Civilization 4 and possibly Civ5, I haven't played Civ5 but I know they likely have the same thing going on.

It's really an eyesore to see that kind of laziness on the developers parts (sorry for thrashing you on this) that building plots don't meld in and flow along the curved surfaces of hills or even slight curves in flat land.

hard to tell with these images but this is what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't count on it... Here's a direct quote from Stardock,

"As a practical matter, Fallen Enchantress is a new game, one that shares some art assets with War of Magic but little else. The scope of the differences between the two will become very apparent in the early months of 2011. Extensive brainstorming sessions between Derek Paxton (Fall from Heaven), Brad Wardell (Galactic Civilizations), and Jon Shafer (Civilization V) resulted in a complete redesign; combat systems, tactical combat systems, character creation, economic system, game mechanics, etc. are all new."
