Spell not working properly

Is the heal spell working for anyone. How about the protect friend?  The freeze spell still affects champion with protect friend spell active. Is this not an offensive spell.?   When I cast heal in tactical battle, the amount healed always shows as 0.  Maybe I just dont understand how these spells work. A guide would have been nice.  Confusion also sometimes lowers attack value to a minus value, rather than cutting it in half. The infernal blade or something like that, that is supposed to increase attack value, does not seem to work.  Can anyone let me know if I am doing something wrong or under what circumstances , these spells work?  Thanks.

I would say for the most part all of your observations are correct and the spells are not working as intended. They will likely be fixed in version 1.1, when there will be a massive magic re-balancing. Or try them again after 1.09 comes out tonight or tomorrow.

As a side note the way it works right now casting Confusion on an enemy pretty much makes your units invulnerable for three turns, so enjoy that while it lasts. Good luck hitting me mister -296 attack bone ogre! :)

Thanks.  One big improvement in 1.09 is the city management spreadsheet. I have yet to check it out however to see if any changes were made to spells. Log sheet of changes made by 1.09 does not mention any.  Appreciate your taking time to reply.

One spell that is a complete hit-miss is the lower land spell. Sometimes I cast it & I can move into the now-plains level square, other times I can't. Also I think sometimes the moutains "spontaneously" reappear after saved games. There are moutain chains that are circular which need to be lowered. I cast "lower land" successfully on opposite diametrical points of the circular chain only to come back to the game the next day after having saved to notice the mountains have now suddenly "reappeared".

I have no idea what's going here & the only reasonable answer is it's a spell bug?
