I like the way the model on  the unit customization screen reacts to new equipment, like almost dropping the sword, etc when you change his equipment. I also like the cloth map, I hope they leave it as an option in final.

hum .. wait ... you see changes when you equip new stuff ? When you create a new blueprint of warrior ?

Like several others who have posted here, I really like the music.

yeah, give him a differrent weapon and he almosts drops it, give him the kite shield, and tho the shield graphic isnt there, you see him act like he is hefting it. Same with giving him armor. Here is an example with just shifting some weapons around.

Well there isn't too much to comment on yet. Right now it is like looking at a bare skeleton. It looks like the skeleton should look though, and I am exited to see it more fleshed out. Once they add some flesh to the bones and I can make out some facial features I'll have more to comment on.

I've never been in a beta from this early - it actually seems like more of an alpha than a beta, but I suppose that is simply because they haven't added the features yet. The beta schedule looks very interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing the game progress.

I like that it's only 650 MB. }:)

Anyway, I like some of the early concepts for the cities. I also like that very basic sketch of research. Both could use a lot of improvement, but hey, beta 1!

I like the concept to build units. This phase needs to be a bit less basic than GalCiv II's or Alpha Centauri's, but there's definitely some good stuff here.

Its really too early.  I like a lot of the concepts and potential, but it's not really *likeable* as a playable game at this point.  Which is precisely the way they said it would be. They were up front about this.

Exactly.  There is nothing likeable about the Beta (Other then the 8 bit intro joke).

What we all love are the concepts and potential.

I like that (at least for an hour or so) it works great on my 64-bit Windows 7 desktop.

I don't like that I can't get past the intro screen on my laptop, which is the computer I actually use most of the time. :P

I like the direction, keep up the good work.

What i like the most, at this moment, are unit figurines. They look great
End of quote

For those of you that haven't, zoom in as far as you can on the sovereign's figurine and spin the map around (middle mouse button) and look at the sheer loving detail that went into it...nice. Kudos to whoever did all that and all the little runes at the base, etc...

I totally disagree.  Although I certanily love the possibilites in the game I think there's plenty of small things that are nice right now.  Hell, even how each faction has their own channeler piece, and i'm sure there will be 1,000 channeler pieces modded in...

The retro intro and the ambient music are nicely done. The exploration shows great potential and the random items you can find seem to be evenly distributed already. The mouse navigation, though still rudimentary, feels right. The random items and the navigation reminds me of GalCiv - which is a good thing.

The technology tree has a refreshing take from what is the norm and it also feels right; it certainly needs more work with accessibility and management.

Thumbs up! :)

At this first state of the beta I like the way the random maps works, grouping mountains and forest in a natural terraformed way, and the fact that for a small map the size is quite big (how the huge one will be then!).

I also like the possiblities of the design, but I expect that the slowdown when having > 15/20 cities don't be a dessign issue...

Good work in any case!

I agree it is more of an alpha than a Beta in usual terms, but I find it fun and interesting to see a game develop from such an early state.
