Banned because there's no excuse for monster pride. Freak pride, yes. But monsters are dangerous, or at least mean.

Banned because although the majority of monsters are malevolent, many possess a Neutral or Good alignment. Even the Archons are in that book.

Unfortunately that is an opinion bases not factual.

Banned for I agree as well, but yes, it is opinion. One of the reasons I hated when a teacher obsessed with Buffy brought it up in parallel to whatever lit we were doing.

And typically I'll mention Old World cities on their own, as they are often historically more significant and the New World versions are just little homages.
