This happens pretty much every time:
If a civilization has less than 100 bc:s money (which is the default amount when asking for tribute or trying to sell something) and you try to use the slider to change the amount to less than 100, the game crashes.. This is in the diplomacy screen.

Since updating to 1.02.42 I'm getting seemingly random crashes during my game turns...like when I'm just moving a ship or something. Very irritating and it never happened before 1.02.42.

I started a new game on a large map and immediately saved and quit. On reloading the game i did ctrl-n to regenerate the map. The new map was a tiny map and in the monthly report it said merely "The" when referring to my civilization. I reloaded and got the same error. I then tried playing a few turns and regenerating but still got the error.

I don't know if this has been reported yet (too many to look over) so I will post it anyways.

Once I encountered a situation where I was in the process of researching Advanced Engineering and the Altarians offered a tech trade, which included them giving me Advanced Engineering. After I accepted, and a couple of turns went by, I didn't get the "new tech acquired" display so I went to my research allocation display and found that I was no longer researching Advanced Engineering, but Sensors, which happened to be at the top of the list. After I changed my research allocation to some other tech, the "new tech acquired" display came up saying that I had acquired Advanced Engineering.

I thought the expected behavior was that when a tech was traded it would immediately be acquired and you would get the "new tech acquired" display. Since this did not happen and I didn't get it until I went in and changed my research allocation, I consider this a bug and humbly request a fix (or at least a confirmation that it can be reproduced), or an explanation of what the expected behavior is supposed to be, if different than the way I described.

Thanks for your continued support, GalCiv is an excellent game and has excellent support!

A UP issue forced all governments to be imperial, yet my senate still had normal elections.

(See Link for backstory)

I loaded up this save game, and you know how you get the research screen followed by the planet screen? Well, after clicking Done on the Research screen, I was taken to Earth, which would make sense if Sol hadn't been conquered by the Arcaeans LONG ago (see Link). So there I am with control of Earth which happens to be building Arcaean constructors. So for fun I click the "Details" button followed by the "Destroy Colony" button. Imagine my surprise when IT WORKED. I destroyed Sol, which was under control by the Arcaeans, with the click of a button!

But wait, there's more! After Sol was destroyed, I was automatically presented with the planetary details screen for ANOTHER Arcaean planet! I pushed "Destroy Colony", and BANG! Another one down! I took out EIGHT Arcaean planets this way. This behavior is totally reproducible from this savegame, which also includes the bug outlined in the first link in this post, as well as the seeming bug where I can stack ships on planets (not in orbit).

Bah...see http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=40137&MaxReplies= for the above with actual working links. :)

As the Technologists, when I lost an election, I lost not only the sensor extension and research bonus, but other bonuses as well (trade, I believe, was one of them). The Mercantile party had won the election (narrowly) and controlled the senate. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but shouldn't you only lose the party bonuses that you GAIN, and not take further penalties?

I decided to destroy all of my planests save for one and noticed that the game will CTD as soon as I hit the turn button. I can duplicate the CTD. If i leave most of my planets alive the game runs A-ok. I could not find the utility brad spoke of on Stardocks home page that would log the crash. I am running version 1.01

Running the latest version, I have a savegame that produces a crash to desktop every time.

The Alterians were operating in the red for several turns. This turn, it shows they have 22 BC. I am trying to sell them 'Battle Armor'. I click 'Battle Armor' on the left. Then, I click in the top right and reduce the monthly amount from 100 BC down to 10 BC.

When I try to drag the slider that sets the number of months, the game crashes to the desktop.

This is reproducible every time, and I have the savegame. Can someone tell me where I should email it?

Encountered something odd:

When I attacked a planet with Information Warfare and 2 full Transports, the resulting planet population was negative. I'm not sure this is easily reproducable, though.

The even more odd thing is the negative population jumping up to 100000 million. Morale was locked at 1%. :p

Here are a couple of problems I've encountered:

1. When clicking on the little arrow to spit a ship out of a planet from the ships list, the game crashes (returns me to desktop w/o any errors).
2. Some of my planets won't let me select a military item to build, or are stuck building a certain unit and won't let me change the selection.
3. The Star Ship Foundary social project should be spelled "Foundry." :)

Just built a starbase in a sector with an enemy starbase that had the -1 to enemy movement... my starbase could move one square per turn.

I figure it's one of two things.
1. zero movement -1 = -1 movement which somehow gets integered into 1 movement.

2. more likely, the hardcoded... negative movement always leave opponents with a min. of 1 movement.

Regarding the alleged bug that losing an election will cause you to gain penalties for not only your party, but also the winning party:

Each party has an opposed party. For the technologists, it's the mercantile. If you lose to your opposing party, you also take their bonuses as penalties.

Running version 1.02.042

Have a reliable CTD save game. It happens during the AI resolution, so I am not sure what exactly is triggering it. If interested, contact me at my registered email.

Game also demonstrates that after Drengin captured a world I was trading with, the trade route is still good. This allows me to source from my empire to the Drengin, twice. Drengin also has two routes to me, as well. And continues to try to establish another one.

Hello,

Here are a few typos I thought I would share. Most may have already been pointed out but the bug list here is way to large to read and from what I have seen a few of these at least may not have been mentioned before.

All are under the abilities section of the empire creation screen and are as follows:

Under Speed the last bit should probably be ‘maneuvering’ instead of ‘mauve ring’.

Under Trade it should be ‘amount of money’ instead of ‘about of money’.

Under Trade Routes it should probably be ‘Route’ instead of ‘Rout’. (Rout is a different word.)

Under Range is should be ‘parsecs’ instead of ‘parcecs’

Another thing that is just slightly annoying is in the creation screen when one enters a name for an empire and it refreshes to show in the description there always is an ‘s’ that is placed on the end of the empire’s name. This makes the sentence a bit off as it pluralizes a word that shouldn’t be pluralized. The statement “The Terran Alliance, under the rule of it’s leader, Allen Bradley, has jump-started the galactic race by creating ‘Hyper Drive’.” makes a little more sense than “The Terran Alliances, under the rule of it’s leader, Allen Bradley, has jump-started the galactic race by creating ‘Hyper Drive’.” and when a new name such as ‘Terran Foundation’ is substituted ‘Terran Foundations’ looks even odder. Now this may be in the realm of aesthetic opinion but I thought I would share mine.

I would like to point out that all of these typos occur in the bonus pack portion of the game that has not been as thoroughly vetted as the rest of the game.

It obviously is not a priority, but typos do take away from the experience and therefore should be corrected at some point.

By the way, this is a great game with great support. Keep up the good work.

Thank you.

I have a sector with 11 starbases with +2 speed. I have a system with three planets that each produce a constructor on the same turn. When they are first built, they start out with 6/6 movement. If I don't put them in a fleet, then they have 28/6 movement the next turn. If I put them in a fleet, they will just have 6/6 movement the next turn. I think this is a bug?

As always, the bug where the game doesn't correctly calculate your cultural influence when you first load the game is something to look at.
Should be "satellite waterpark" not "satelite waterpark" and boy do I love building them in Drengin space.

Also, I had two cultures build the galactic exposition about 24 months apart using the latest (.42) version. No other "wonders" were double built.

Bugs (1.02.040)

Still can't build the terraformer (you don't even get the option now)

If one planet you own builds a wonder (in this case it was the Economic Capital), I can continue building it on another planet if I was building it at the time. The end result was I had 2 economic capitals. Nice for cash flow, but not intended I don't think. Next game I will have all planets produce "Economic Capital" at the same time, hehe. Probably connected to the "multiple races build the same trade good problem"

When you pick up a saved game, your influence is reduced for one turn. This is a minor bug, but it makes your graphs look weird with amazingly steep dips in them.

Alien civilizations can build galactic wonders you had already built. However, if an Alien civilization builds the wonder, you can not! :p

With the most recent build, I've started to get a lot of crashes to desktop. Almost all of them have occurred during tech trading.
