It IS coming today for beta testers

When I enter the game it says a major update is avilable but when I click get update it just exits. -Jeremy Sr.

Frogboy will most likely make a post when it's available, but you can also join us in #elemental on irc.stardock.com.  If you don't have a preferred IRC client, click on the community tab in Impulse, and then click on chat.  Enter a nickname and hit connect.  In the entry field, type /join #elemental.

Elemental: Updating to the Release Version!

The official release date of Elemental is August 24th. However, some retailers have broken the street date and to make sure that those who helped us in the beta as well as those who pre-ordered it don’t miss out, we are going to release a pre-day 0 version of Elemental tonight.

This version is beyond the digital gold version that reviewers currently have but it is not quite the day 0 version either.  There’s been a lot of polish, tweaks, and other improvements to the game in this version.

If you did happen to get Elemental early from retail, you will want to load up Impulse (which was installed) and update to the latest version.

This version should go live in approximately 90 minutes.

if I pre order now, could I play later tonight when its released for all pre order customers?

How many incremental builds do you have in-house anyway?
None. Hence the delay.

We had the gold version (from several days ago) and we were working towards the day 0 version which was supposed to go Monday morning.

Well, at this point, I say forget about the pre-day 0 version and just work on that original Monday morning deadline.
