[1G][BUG / graphics and gameplay]

So there are quite a few graphical glitches in my game. Here goes...

Parts of the map become visible for no apparent reason.

Note how the fog of war is not there far away on the map.

The map is glitchy sometimes. Note how my capitol is in the ocean and note the weird land patterns in the sea.

My capitol is sometimes in the ocean sometimes not.

In the unit design mode, the cloaks are very glitchy and they create artifacts.

In the unit editor the cloaks all glitch.

Some very weird issues with the map here.

Parts of map suddenly become water.

Here the game went bananas. Not only were there a lot of issues with the graphics, I also experienced sidescrolling that would never stop.

This happened out of the blue, I also experienced forced sidescrolling that I could not stop.

I ordered my units to get back in the city but they never would.

I gave these guards orders to move back into the city. They never did.

Also this last issue is not shown very well in screencaps, but as it happened units very often simply disappeared from the map. Spiders did it all the time but it also happened to enemy soldiers.

Did you try to play the game in windowed mode in a lower resolution?

Usually "solved" this problem with the graphics for me.

I did not try that, but I think I shall. How exactly do I get elemental to wun in a window? And from a testers point of view, should I not keep playing with my current settings to see what else the grpahics may do?

I got two problems similar to yours : I CTD when I was designing a unit and chosing its cloak, and scrolling doesn't work to the south if you put your mouse on the spell reseach bar or the research bar. You need to put the mouse in the middle of the bottom.

Yeah, the scrolling not working to the south was a cutius thing indeed. I found out how to do it as well, but I whould obviously work everywhere.

The issue I experienced however was that the map would scroll to the southwest without me doing that. I could drag back to where I wanted to be but with the game constant sliding I could no longer click anything accurately.

That is a persistant issue. I would guess it has some link to a possible memory leak issue as I get the "auto scrolling" happening about 3-4 minutes before the game finally CTD's.

I did not get to test 1G last night (dang Olympics), but I guess there was no FUN to be had anyways.

Sorry, forgot to menton this, but everyone should visit their "My Games/Elemental/Units" folder and clear out any previously designed units. That soldier you see there is the old model, and should not appear in-game (unless, again, an old unit type uses it).

Let me know if that fixes the issue!
