Range is definitely a weakness. Penitence alone is not enough to get kills, and spamming Penitence and Surge constantly you will run out of mana in no time. Matchups I have the most trouble with as Oak: Regulus with Mines + MoB -You can't get close to him because of the mines, if you throw penitence at him he will attack you and throw mines on you while u are slowed. I usually get Cloak of Night for favor so I could possibly warp over the mines, b

Hit him with MOB and surround yourself with shrapnel mines. You also need to stack health in order to stand your ground after the swarm/bite combo, as you will probably be too slow to escape, especially if he has mass charm too. If you survive the initial attack, hit him with MOB and mines again. At this point one of you is going die XD
Depending on the situation, if your item can get you to a level where dealing with giants is not a problem, then it is better in this situation. Many times I will forgo getting catapults or giants in favor of grabbing a cloak of flames late game for my Oak, if I'm high enough level and the rest of my build is ready for it, i can feed off the giants for more xp and gold and make up the 6000 rather quickly, without losing ground, especially if it puts me in the position t
A good UB player will probably use both, and the mana issue has several solutions such as HoL, Blade of Serpent, or Essence of Magic.
Also, citadel awards should be based on amount of money spent, not number of upgrades
I'm sure any set of skills with those artifacts will be good, this is a pretty bad "build" guide
Use middle mouse click to pan camera, IMO it's much better anyway
My spirit Oak can pretty much always beat a towers rook if I have enough time with him alone, someone will usually bail him out when they see i'm destroying towers faster than he can put them back up
that's some major squishy stuff. Probably want to max out sniper scope with a build like this
The advantage is getting 2 or maybe 3 good skills at the same time if you just wait. For instance with a Rook, if you start with towers, archer tower, save, tower 2, and , you can then get boulder roll AND tower of light at one time at lvl 5. Better than waiting until lvl 6. On some builds you can get 3 of your lvl 15 skills at once if you've saved you skill points. If you go with a no-towers rook it's possible to have maxed out hammer (with dizzy
At the risk of inducing several "gasps" among the DG community, I don't use the HoL + Shield trick 90% of my games. I don't because 1) My build has me on lvl 1 shield so I can use soul power + spirits for massive weapon damage and 2) I prefer to buy better gear/cit upgrades over HoL, or even coast into getting a mage slayer. I can't argue with its effectiveness in this matchup, though, so I'll keep an open mind when I see this type of Reg build.
You just didn't understand the strategy of this map. The strategy is to push and for YOU to destroy the enemy towers, not the grunts. The reason is that this is a serious chokepoint map and it's very easy to contain your grunts and farm them. We had the exact same issue. We were pwning face and suddenly they started to get 2+ levels above us while we were pounding on their base entrance with giants. We did we do? We went straight for all their flags +
Cloak of Night. Tele past mines and onto reg, proceed to bash his face in. Use shield to bail out and run through mines if neccessary. Very similar to batswarming with Erebus If your quick on your fingers you can interrupt his next mines cast with penitence.
Shield+HOL is overrated Of course Fire Torch and Regulus will have problems with it because you HAVE NO STUN. If you are in Ice mode you stop HoL with deep freeze or frost nova (preferably frost nova, as that will also eat away his shield time and slow him) Trick to fighting a team with a healer is to attack BOTH of them. Wait for a heal on one teammate then focus fire on the one that didn't get healed. The stronger DPS guy of your team should att
I never use the Shield/HoL combo with my Oak. I do a mix of minion and effective attacking, I load up on better armor (platemail of crusader) rather than getting HoL, and I'll usually go for Cloak of Flames for the extra mana + skill activation, or Cloak of Elfinkind if I'm up against Demigods I may not feel confident I can beat. In fact mageslayer is usually my 3rd artifact. I only get 1 point of shield and use it as a snipe/fireball blocker or clearing debuffs (for myself or teammates!) I f
Currency 2 is always worth it in a 4v4, and 3 is usually worth it too. A match between good players will easily last 40 minutes to an hour. The person who's been getting the most kill gold should be the one buying currency upgrades.
If you really need to slow with Sedna what's to stop you from picking up a set of cheap Wyrmskin Handguards?
It's not a bad strategy and I use it often with my Oak minion build. It WILL dodge: - Auto-attack - Any damage over time skills (spit, circle of fire) - Towers (including Rook's towers) It will NOT dodge: - One hit skills or burst/aoe damage (snipe, pounce, fireball, etc.) I find dodge may scale better late game than an item like Blood of the Fallen and you could be potentially
Oak with a full spirit army + penitence + surge of faith will kill sedna before her cooldown comes back after her first heal. Also stuns with quick cast time (foul grasp, penitence, deep freeze) can interrupt her heal completely if timed right and she's really screwed
At first regulus seems to be a op demigod, but if you look into it, he is very fair. Regulus is possible the most worthless demigod early game. He is very weak and pretty much has difficulty holding a lane any demigod who actually tries to harass him.
Not saying he's OP, but when combined with heaven's wrath he does not need to hold a lane. He can easily farm using heaven's wrath while capping u
Ooze has no chance of beating morale buffed spirits, UB will be mincemeat in no time :)
Good advice Saving for Ash is a waste when you can get Mageslayer and then Orb of Veiled Storms or Cloak of Flames, your attack speed is actually better just without the crits. Throw in Slayers wraps/ Duelist Cuirass and you've got a ghetto fabulous ashkandor
I used to take a lot of morale with my Oak builds but I've held back on them recently and gotten better results going with other skills early. The problem with minions, especially Oak's spirits, is that they can't hit targets on the move so they will rarely help you take down a fleeing demigod. However morale is awesome for crowd control especially with generals that are bad a creep killing (Sedna). Strong minions can help you level faster and will mostly make Demigod f
Regulus is going to have a tough time vs Oak spirits. Your best bet is to hit him first, and get him to start retreating. The spirits can't hit you while you are moving. I also mines can clear out spirits quick, but you need ground units to set them off. Although if he has dead wards around you may just spawn a new set of spirits [e digicons]8(|[/e] Parasite Egg is a definite counter but it's a lot to invest just for countering 1 person.
