Robin Hood was released in late 2002.

Frogboy posted that it will be Robin Hood. https://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=185242
The game looks interesting. http://www.robinhood-game.com/ :)
So my opinion is based on the fact that since they are in development of GC v2.00 and they have not fixed the v1.xx bugs yet there will be no more patches.
Hmmm...Cari-elf indicated that there would probably be another patch at some future undetermined date. As to what bugs are squashed, thats a different question.
No, score degradation does not cause games to disappear from your record. Did you upgrade to Totalgaming.net recently? If you did, the newer games are submitted under TG's registration number and the older games are still associated with the AP/GC registration number. You would need to go http://www.galciv.com/playerreg.asp and follow the instructions for score conversion in order for the older games to reappear. If you haven't upgraded to TG, someone from Stardock wil
Do you know if this work also for the Babylon 5 shipgraphics
Yes with some additional work. I'll use the WhiteStarRangerMod as an example. 1)After extracting the files from downloaded .zip file, find the 0Ship13Pal.Pal_ file. Open this file with Dark Rain's palette editor. "Save As" "0WhiteStarPal.Pal_, exit. 2) Open 0Ship13.SPR1 with sprite editor. Highlight first sequence, click on "rename sequence", change "0Ship13_Default_A32C1" to "0WhiteStar_
Trade techs with the minors because you get much better deals. Early on, the majors will trade freighters for techs. By right clicking on a freighter name in the trade list, you can see if the freighter is near an alien world. Choose freighters that are closest to alien worlds so that they will arrive in a only a few turns. That way you start routes sooner and collect trade faster.
Commoness: 4 is a number 1-9, 1 being rare and 9 being very common.
Oops! :( Double checked this and it is 1-5 for anomalies with being 1 being common and 5 being rare.
Hmmm... let see! With AP you can : 1) Play randomly generated maps with 1-7 major alien races with the minors on or off. 2) Play AP campaign 3) Play the 9 scenarios included 4) Play on the various custom maps provided 5) Create your own maps, scenarios, and campaigns and play on those. Right now the only games not submittable to the metaverse fall under category 5. :) PS AP also has bonus ships, etc.
Well if Stardock is unconcerned I guess I shouldn't be either. And, if its like so many open source projects, it will lose steam and never really get finished. ;)
Sorry Moser for my stupidity,
It wasn't your stupidity as much as me not being clear. ;) Sorry 'bout that! As long as we finally communicated, all is well! :) Let me know how it turns out. I'm always on the look out for new mods/graphics.
But I think I have tried putting my own created model in the galciv writer, using the method you jus told me
Hmmm...my method doesn't use GCW to add model, so I think you might not quite understand. You use GCW to create .ship file than use NotePad to edit this .ship file to add your custom model. At this point the ship should use your model in game. I used this method to add a custom anomaly graphic I made. It worked in game but unfortunately it looked really bad because
Moser shakes his head! The only purpose behind this project that I can see is to take money out of Stardock's pockets. >:(
As far as I know you can't use GalCivWriter to add new ship models directtly. However if you have the ship model successfully archived as a Pear file using Dark Rains tools, you can manually add ship model to .ship file created with GCW by using .txt editor like NotePad. A .ship file looks like this: //------------------------------------------------------------------------ SHIP DeathKnight //------------------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot get the Writer to work
Which version? I'm still using 1.3 which seems to be perfectly fine for things like events, anomalies. Its still available for download at: http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm#Downloads
I actually have a second anomaly mod submitted for approval so I am working on them but its really hard to come up with new and unique mods. If I was a better artist, I have some ideas for mods like modeling a space dragon for a mod similar to the space shark "monster mod". I think a great artist could model several monsters that could be spawned from unique anomalies or be built after research specific monster techs. In other words the shortage of models is limiting my ability to mod.
Ok here's sample of a modded anomaly: //------------------------------------------------------------------------ ANOMOLY creativity2 //------------------------------------------------------------------------ Title "Creativity2" Description "Our researchers have discovered the recipe for a new elixir in the memory banks of an ancient space station. Not only does it increase our creativity by 2 percent, it tastes great and is less
After opening .anomaly files with .txt editor, like Notepad, make sure that you remember to save as an .anomaly file when finished editting or they won't work in-game. Same holds true for all data file types.
i've seen so many ships(same type) with different HP... if the Shipyards dont do that so what then?!
Ships get more hit points, etc when they go up experience levels in much the same way an RPG player character does. A Level 2 battleship is more powerful than a level 1 battleship.
Overall I liked the variety of the missions. The only mission that I didn't particularly care for is #5 (Unsuspecting Allies). The cultural objective felt more tediuous than the other objectives in my opinion. That being said it did provide variety of objectives which was good. A balance of alliance, elimination, and capture the planet missions would be a good start. In addition, I'd like to even more variety of the type of objectives mixed in. For example, find and destroy a
Next round is on me! Aldarian Ale for the house! :CONGRAT: :D :CONGRAT:
There is a sticky thread for bugs, etc called: "Gal Civ 1.21 and Altarian Prophecy 1.51"
Terran Knights
First you need an active internet connection when the game summary comes up in order for the submit screen to come up. If your internet connection was not active, don't worry. The Endgame.sav can be loaded after connecting to the internet, hit space bar, and summary screen will again appear. Press done and submission screen should appear. At this point enter your player name exactly as it was registered as well as the same registered e-mail address. The submission process usually takes
Hmmm...as long as my emperor is active I'll remain an Aldarian. I'm happy just to be in top 10 as an individual and as an empire. :) I did have an idea for what empire I would join if I left. I'd join the Arnor led by Frogboy and semi-retire.
