I must admit... i have not been this excited about a party for a long time - Nick is having a party on Christmas night, you know, for the sake of having a party. Well, i met Nicks 18 year old sister properly for the first time the other night... and i have got to say - so far she is girlfriend material. She doesn't know it, but that is the highest compliment i can ever give to a girl. You have your sluts that you would root and shit... but she is a really nice girl who i would have no shame in i

Why doesn't anyone realise that slander of another political party is not constructive at all??? I dont understand the point other than picking a fight. If you want to confront a democrat, or any one on the left - justify your gripe.

I am really enjoying this small break from Work. Seriously, I had Friday off and it is now Sunday and i still feel great, even though i have had quite a large weekend!!! It all started on Thursday night, and i was in a rather festive mood... it was time to catch up wiht the boys from the old hood, and its awesome... their is this really average night club in Ringwood called Daiseys - it is pretty much the only place everyone out that way goes to on a Thursday night... its one of those p

This is just an article i came across in our local media - i thought you may enjoy it. People ask me what kind of movies/books i like - and I am not ashamed to say Star Wars or Lord of the Rings... When i used to be into wargamming i was somewhat uneasy about telling some of my 'cooler' friends... i have no problem with admitting i enjoyed it now. There is no shame in being a Nerd... anyone who tells you otherwise, put on your robe and wizard hat, then cast level 6 ignore on th

They're here, they're the mainstream, they dominate our popular culture. Xan Brooks investigates the inexorable rise of the geek. There is a key scene in the film American Splendor in which nerdish hero Harvey Pekar accompanies his still-more-nerdish sidekick Toby to a showing of the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds. Toby is a devoted fan of the movie, which he interprets as a clarion call to arms. Harvey is more circumspect. He dismisses the cast as "preppy Ivy League nerds. Not real o

Those who dont know - Centrelink is the Austrlian Welfare Agency A scruffy looking guy walks into the local Centrelink office, marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi, I hate being on the dole and I'd really rather have a job." The clerk behind the Centrelink desk says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur/bodyguard for his blonde nymphomaniac daughter. You'll have to drive her

It feels so great at work today... it is awesome to know that i will be able to sleep in tomorrow and i have no firm obligations over the weekend whatsoever. I am actually contemplating hitting the drink pretty hard tonight... My friend Hayley has the day off tomorrow as well, and she is going to this pub/club called Daiseys near where i used to live... I cant really describe this place, except that it is only good if you are absolutely blind drunk... There is one major problem with the venue -

Of course there are exceptions to every rule... it is a clinically proven fact though that private schools produce better academic scores... also there will always be a bias towards privately educated people - if two people went for the same white colar job, and were both equally qualified and one went to a private and one went to a public, as a general rule, the private student would get the job everytime. It has nothing to do with the level of education - its societies perception.

I have noted a few articles on the site, one in particular from Calor - http://calor.joeuser.com/index.asp?aid=1869 and it sparked quite a debate on the issue... well - it wasn't really much of a debate, because there isn't much representation from Calors point of view - however, there are a lot of valid points, and it is very interesting to know what this community thinks of taxes. In Australia we are a bit further toward the left of the political spectrum - the difference is negligabl

Another great article mate... i always wondered why Aragorn hadn't gotten it on with Arwyn yet, cause she would be mint. Can we expect any others? i have got to say that i dont mind wording it up before the release of the movie... handy facts to tell at the party afterwards no doubt.. every hot chick wants to know about Aragorn... and Legolas... lay it on us :)

Hmm... i hate to sound perhaps a little jaded... but you might want to take it easy on the emotions... Guys can be jerks, and no doubt chicks can stuff crap up as well... it just sounds to me that if something did happen, you might indeed hit a brick wall of pain... I mean, dont get me wrong - its awesome that you have found someone like this - but you still have to hold your reservations. Yes, it is very selfish, but you should look after yourself first and formost. I dont really know

I have a bad gripe with the way they have portrayed Faramir... in the book, he comes across as wise, noble and learned... yet in the movie he can be perceived as ignorant, and power hungry - totally the opposite of what i though Faramir to be... But in terms of the spirit, it truely is an epic adventure, and i personally know many a person who it has inspired to actually read the book. Good article as well Draginol!

I guess you can possibly say it has started. Let me try and explain something to those of you North of the Equator... now, i know you enjoy beer in summer, and beer in winter... but there is just something about a beer in the evening with your mates when Christmas and New Years is around the corner... i hadn't had it in a while, so my beverage of choice last night was Corona.... its a nice summery beer. I met this dude though last night... in short, he was a wanker. A meat head gym junk

Yeah - good observation. Same thing is happening in Australia... the only problem is there are pubs in more affluent areas that used to be awesome hang out pubs - you could cruise on down with mates, wearing what you please, and just have a good time. Now they market the pub to the snotty rich kids of the area, and you get nothing but pretentious cheese and expensive beer. I have made this comment already today, but the individual is dying... society places to much pressure on conformity. I say

I dont think its the young girls exploiting themselves intetionally... unfortunatly they believe that society wont accept them unless they conform to the Britney/J-Lo image... Society really needs to sit down and have a look at the way it is approaching things at the moment... all you have to do is look at a Tommy Hilfigger add or a Cosmopolitan magasine cover, and people are expected to have a nice bod, beautiful skin, and acting promiscuous is becoming all too acceptable... I dont think it is

You should just play that Christina Aguelera (sp?) song.. Beautiful... i always chuck it on when my female friends are feeling insecure... and obviously, they are females.. so its pretty often ;) Its always reassuring when someone finds themselves after being lost! Good luck with that ;)

Hello Internet. You people who started a Blog because sharing your thoughts with the world really appealed to you, may feel somewhat cheapened by the fact that i am merely starting one because i have nothing better to do. Its Tuesday morning, about 37 C outside, and i am stuck at work in what would appear to be one of the slowest days of my life. I cant really pinpoint why roday is running so slow - yes, it is dead at work, yes, the festive season is approaching, no, i have not
