Here's the latest debug file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8733908/debugrecheck.err from last night (no issues except the common graphics issues that everyone is reporting) It still contains: Debug Message: Failed to create process: DXAtlasWin.exe /w 1024 /h 512 /OUTPUTDIR "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\screens\" /SCREENPATH "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elementa

I didn't have any problems that I recall seeing on the fonts - I will post now my latest debug file...
I started a new game, and after a few turns noticed that the 'random' map was identical to the previous game. I went into the options menu to see if I could start a new game, but discovered I did not have that option, so came back into the game to resume it. Next attempt to move my sovereign caused the game to freeze indefinitely, requiring a reboot. Here's a link for another save with the same problem, different sovereign/set up. The enchantment is cast on the sovereign - does not show up visually, but adjusts the stats as per the original OP: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8733908/Elemental0_805-2010-07-04T13-56-59-687.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8733908/DxDiag.txt
Why not while( uLoopcount So we should build cities near/in forests in order to have monsters spawn in forests far from our cities...
This would be nice - the idea that wild, untamed areas are more dangerous. Perhaps also linked back to the terrain idea, so mountain and marsh could be really dangerous, plains/coastal less so, and then layer on distanc
This seems like an obvious one that must have been posted before, but it doesn't come up on my searches, so... When we name units, can we also name the plural so we don't get weird plurals like 'watchmans' or 'militias'?
Suggestions posted seperately...
Very nice - this is the sort of detail I was expecting for the game to take from fantasy galciv to feeling a bit different. Seems you're playing about with some really nice thoughts and ideas here.
Maybe when you posted, but not when I did, and in any event the forums have been imploding all day so it's hard enough to even make a post, let alone read them. I'm sure there are moderators to watch out for this. I'm here to beta test, enough said.
When you look at the cloth map, if a shard has been built on, it does not show up - this makes it difficult to work out which cities have shards - especially important if you want to take one from an enemy.
Perhaps if the search engine worked better it would show up with a search, but thank you for your helpful comment.
Kids? I can't even work out how to get married. I had assumed it was not in Beta 3...
Good effort - I'll try to ensure all my future suggestions have some reference to your categories, so that in the very least it helps you a bit. For now, if you want to add to your master list: Customisation: Change to UI: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386459 - clarify which unit gets enchantment https://forums.elementalgame.com/386458 - moving items between units https://forums.elementalgame.com/386457 - diplomacy UI </p
Housing: I have to admit, that the current system with gardens, and special food tiles is coming into shape and playing better with each release With regards to the housing I would suggest to change it in that way: City level one: hut -> lvl.2: Unlocking house possible -> lvl.3: unlocking estate possible -> lvl. 4: unlocking villa's possible -> lvl.5: unlocking mansions possible. Whenever a player chooses that upgrade
This crash looks the same as the previous one here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386450 but in this case it gets stuck on the loading screen which comes after 'building world' At this point the load never progresses, but the cutscene keeps running and the music keeps playing. Unusually I can also CTRL-Esc in and out of this without any issues, but it
I get the same issue with ctrl-escp on windows XP - I can't go back into the game as I get the same message.
When you cast an enchantment on a stack, there is no method of selecting which unit(s) gets it. Can we pull up a check list and cast the spell on the selected unit(s)?
When shifting items from one character it would help greatly to be able to open up both characters and simply swap between them. It would also help to be able to do the same thing whilst shopping. Currently it's not very intuitive to click on the small items tab, scroll through it, then drag the item on to another portrait.
Currently, if you go into the kingdom reports and then click on diplomacy and select an empire, you can carry out all diplomacy, but when you exit, you are dropped back to the main map. Since it is common to carry out diplomacy with more than one empire in a row, it would be more intuitive to drop back to the diplomacy overview screen to select the next player/opponent.
If you switch between characters, the 'your inventory' tab does not update unless you click on both the tab and on the newly selected character. For example, if you scroll through from character 1 to character 2 on the bottom left of the shop screen, and you already have 'your inventory' open, it does not update. However if you click on the 'your inventory' tab, it then updates it.
Same problem - additional report: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386450
Save from the previous night that I was trying to load. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8733908/Elemental0_805-2010-07-03T21-44-58-265.zip
First time going into the game in the morning: Loads up the beta 3 splash screen (this stays there for about 3 minutes). Then get to the menu, click load game, select from list. WHatever the selection, game freezes still on the load game screen - but I have also got it to the 'building world' screen and frozen there several times. It usually requires a complete reboot to get out of this. dxdiag: http://pastebin.com/kZcLn6YW debug file part 1: http://pastebin.com/ZHxDQcwQ
Playing through beta 3, it seems that dungeons, goody huts, inns etc can be in several states: Invisible - tech not discovered Visible but unusable - tech discovered but some other constraint? Visible and useable - all in order Used - some Inns remain after use on the map Idea here would be to make this clear visually, because visually I seem to get two states: 'whited out' and brown (using the cloth map) - but there does not seem t
Not 100% sure this is working as intended: If I try to erase a city improvement, I can't. I get the message it would stop my city being continguous - this is true howeve even if i have a neck of improvements 2 or 3 wide and want to remove one - or simply want to remove an improvement on the outside of the city.
