Nice work Frogboy / Draginol / whateveryoucallyourself I don't really mind whether it's on Steam or Epic tbh but a larger community of players means more $ for Stardock, and hopefully more spent on development of a game with huge potential. In the back of my mind I've always been afraid of the Epic Games store dying a quick death ... I don't know how they sustain it when it's unprofitable!

Absolutely loving what I'm hearing about AlienGPT ... Will AlienGPT be used to improve the dialogue of other existing races? In the future perhaps a negotiation could be more of an open dialogue which would make negotiating more complex and interesting. What really attracts me to space-based games is: - Lore - Sense of discovery and wonder - Random events - Interacting to aliens
Maybe what people are asking for is more of a "discount" on Epic for those who purchased the base game. The current discount of 60% doesn't seem like enough for early backers when it feels like new users are getting a better deal. I don't really mind ... this is how the world works ... loyalty is hardly ever honoured - this is why I change utilities company and ISP every single year to take advantage of "New User Discounts" :)
hahaha glad the developers are having fun with this again ... opens up a whole world of possibilities to make Galciv great again!
Awesome ... I wonder if you've thought about putting a little icon on the planetary map showing which each planets strengths are? Like the food icon next to a world where food production is dominant? This may make it easier to target different worlds for their resources, and also make it easier to remember which one is your food basket and which one has all the nerds living on it! Of course, the AI will need to know how to use this new system too.
So excited for the changes Draginol ... 2023 can't come soon enough! I've played through a couple of very long games, and love the experience so far ... I haven't got any good suggestions except for the fact that you could focus on trying to maintain the "fun factor" of the game by having more exciting and fun things to do, especially in the late game. Loving the music (especially the Star Control flavour music) but after countless hours it can be a little repetitive.
Won 2nd game! Managed to stop those Korath before they became completely unstoppable! Feedback: - Dreadlords suck and are not scary at all. - Most AI civs stopped doing much about the time when I started gaining momentum. - Balance seems OK despite Stardock not focussing on it? The Mimo
They just aren't scary? Make them super scary please!!! One of my huge ships took out ALL OF THEM and barely got scratched!
Agree that it feels like a bit of a "cheat" way to win ... less so if there are many sectors and a lot of competition e.g. 25+ races.
OMG!!! I reckon there should be some lore wrapped around: - Pirates - Space Monsters - Precursor Sentinels I remember initially seeing the Precursor Sentinels and wondering what the heck they were? Then they started attacking my innocent ships and asteroid mining posts :(
23 civs 5 sectors I feel like I cheated because I won a prestige victory by keeping the most powerful civ (Manti) on my side, and completing galactic challenges in the late game to win a prestige victory while everyone else nuked each other. Feedback: - Galactic challenges are a bit broken since the AI cannot do them? - Some of the galactic challenges could not be completed? e.g. - destroy the dreadlord fleets
Great that someone replied to this eh :P
Just had the same thing happen with the "Notifications" that show up on the lefthand side each turn .. it said "one of your agreements with the Festron has expired" ... but the Festron had been destroyed approx 5 turns ago. Seems like the game is hanging on to those dead civs :)
Hahaha it's now more than 100 turns later and the Torians apparently still don't like us [e digicons]X([/e] (even though there is no trace of them except for a few random leaders and citizens) I actually love the Torians, but the Onyx offered me $2k to go to war with them ... every man has his price!
Of course the Torians don't like us ... we wiped them out a couple of turns ago !
Thanks Tatiora for keeping an eye on the forums and the feedback! Slightly disappointed that the devs seem to have "forgotten" about Galciv4 so soon after launch but I understand it's a busy time at Stardock and it's more important to try to work on the "next big hit" for now ... Sins2. I know that in true Stardock fashion the team will get back to Galciv4 and start improving the game immeasurably once time permits. I just finished my first game of Ga
Thanks for the tip! Yeah I'm really starting to get into GalCiv4 now if it wasn't for the buggy crashes and super laggy gameplay when playing with more than 2 sectors (my old PC probably doesn't help). I just wish there were more civs! But I guess that's where the future DLC comes in.
Game only just begun with 2 x huge sectors, and maximum amount of enemies. It was a really promising start for me ... gutted the game seems to have frozen mid-turn and no saves since it's a new game grrr My last game bugged out quite far into the game too where I wasn't able to move any of my fleets, then the end turn button didnt seem to do anything. Hope you manage to get these annoying bugs sorted Stardock!!! <img sr
Game seems to run pretty poorly if you play with more than 2 sectors ... at first it's nice and smooth / snappy but the longer the game goes it starts to crawwwwwl
Rocket Lab is a New Zealand company ... as a NZer I've been following them with interest (even bought some shares) ... hopefully we find some Tywom on Venus! :P
Seems to be if I'm on the map view and click and drag the screen from a certain point (somewhere in the top-right corner) ... then this dude pops up and won't go away :P Annoying sometimes as it blocks events happening behind it!
For some reason, this leader card just pops up out of nowhere ... I can move it around the screen but I cannot close or remove it until I end turn and it cycles through everyones turn back to mine again. This is the second time this has happened in the last 10 or so turns ...
But, you are not free to describe other people in our community as "part of the problem" or call our partners "cancer". That's hyperbolic toxicity and frankly not the kind of attitude we want in our community playing our games.
It's ok ... I'm big enough and ugly enough to handle it :) It's like water off a ducks back ... I'm just loving Galciv4 and I hope the sales of the game are reflecting the reco
Agree with those who think the game was released a little bit too early ... although I disagree with the 5/10 IGN rating .... 5/10 is completely unplayable ... Galciv4 is definitely not unplayable! Galciv4 is fun and engaging ... there is plenty to explore and do ... and it has added some "intrigue and flavour" that Galciv3 lacked at times ... I feel as a starting point the game is actually a very good base platform to build upon for the future ... the ideas are interesting and the ga
Absolutely love any lore Stardock can come up with! More more more :D
