Well I'm sure microsoft knows exactly what they're doing. Make a product widely (and freely) available...and make it a standard...then start charging fees....those asshats will do anything to make more money...simply pathetic IMO

i'd say using windows own "send to compressed folder" is the most painless and easiest way to zip something.. thats what I always to before I upload here!
I was wondering why almost every single wallpaper submissions out of the past 50 or so have 8 ratings...seems very odd...even hideous ones do! Doesn't make much sense...
In an effort to save this thread from becoming a flame war, I will simply say this: If you a pressed for cash, a run-of-the-mill PC is the way to go, but with that, you sacrifice performance. If you have a little more cash (about $1000-$1500 can get you a great mac) then a Mac is the way to go. Macs are notorious for graphics design and video editing. I have both a Mac and a PC, and I must say that my Mac (PowerMac G4 867MHZ) can do a lot more than my PC (AMD 2200+ 1.8GHZ) in
Thanks a lot David!
OOOOOOO i thought of another feature proposal! We should have a block list, which can permit users who are on the list from commenting/downloading/viewing our work. Just a thought Chas: I agree that this type of language should not be tolerated. Maybe the user could be banned for a short while, then let back to see if he/she had learned a lesson.
Thanks yrag! For those of you who don't know what's going on, a member had posted some vulgar comments on the above linked wall, inluding swears and moronic "threats".
haha IPlural, thanks for saving my typo! I guess it was accidently clever, so thanks for your cleverness
I agree Zodiac, that's why I posted here. I hope one of the Admins can remove the comments. As I said, WinCustomize is a community, with people of ages ranging from 10 to probably 60-70. It's not just kids who don't need to see it. No one should be exposed to this kind of crap/abuse on this site.
haha i meant to say "big hug"
Take a look at this: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=8&SkinID=11134 I feel sorry for this guy...someone should give him a great bug hug, cuz it sounds like he's got some pretty big issues. But on a serious note, why are we forced to deal with people like this on WinCustomize, a site which represents a community of consumers and skinners alike? I hope one of the Admins ( <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
Yea out here in Rhode Island, we lost power for about 5 hours last night because of the storm. But yea I heard that the power outtage is due to a lighting strike of the power generator station in Niagra Falls.
i'm just gonna shut up, seeing that no one really cares what other people with conflicting wiews say. If it doesn't follow the norm, them ignore it...right? that's your philosophy? anyways, this will be my last post in this thread on one condition: If I see anything like "thank god" or anything demeaning towards me or what I posted, I will be forced to back up what I said. So it is now up to all of you whether to stay on topic, or to rile me up a bit. choose wisely.
In this day and age, it's OK to be pacifist. And if you think we should all subscribe to the same school of thought, then you should get out more. The world is a big place, with a variety of different cultures and ways of thinking. I happen to be anti-violent and pacifist. If you want to hate me for that, look up the word "hypocritical", and you'll find a good description of yourself. I'm sorry for bringing all this up in this thread. I think the admins should setp in whe
Ms cargor, I understand where you're coming from, and I wish they would stop too, but they are just people like you and me, showing the world how vulnerable Windows is. If you read the message in the virus, it tells Bill Gates to stop making money, and to fix his software. The person who made this worm, however assinine he/she may be, are just trying to prove their point, and they see that this is the way to do it. Now I don't agree with their methods at all, but if you can tell, I am
Listen everyone I'm sorry, I hope you can imagine how annoyed I am by all this Microsoft b/s. I was infected with this worm, and dealt with what all you have, so I know what you're goin through. Fuzzy Logic: That "Scribe" in front of your name means something right? It makes you higher up on the ladder than other regular members, right? ACT THAT WAY. Calling me a troll, unnecessarily taking personal shots at me, is not the way someone with the "scribe" dignification should be actin
I'm not sure about that. WindowBlinds, along with Cursor XP and Object Dock and Object Bar eat up about 50MB of my memory. 50MB versus the 0MB extra memory taken up while not running any customization software.
Hey, George Rogers, let's not get into that. Every knowledgable PC user knows that performace does not equal processor speed. It relies on other thing as well, such as cache, bus speed, memory, etc. So no mac bashing please. Although the "MHZ Myth" was a little out of proportion, it was true, and still is .
And as a Windows (and mac) user myself, I am allowed to bash Microsoft as much as I want.
A_67, believe me I have written to MS and Bill Gates about this, but I'm sure my emails are among countless others from people who are just as annoyed with MS as I am. And also, this isn't a tiny hole that someone had to look for with a fine tooth comb. All of the security bugs/holes in Windows are tremendous. The problem isn't the hackers. It's the software makers. Kona: Please no personal attacks. If you can sit there and say that you're not annoyed by all the BS you've had to p
I think that "ripping" the windows kernel is completely justified. After the companies that Microsoft has ripped off (Apple, Sun, Quark, Xerox, etc), it would be very hypocritical for there to be a moral issue here, because we all know that Microsoft crossed that line a long time ago (1984 ). I think that we, as windows users (despite that fact that I wouldn't give up my Mac in a million years) d
For me, it's RealOne Player (on allllll the time), Photoshop 7, and Dreamweaver MX. And on the mac: Well I guess it's not really a program, but I'd have to say the actual OS itself
KarmaGirl, I was not trying to start an arguement. I was simply stating that I'm sick of all the complaining, but what I really sick of is Microsoft's constant OS problems. This isn't some small hole that some hacker found on a chance in hell. It's a HUGE hole that should have been fixed back when XP was being stol..err uhh, I mean "developed". Apple and Linux have never had problems, because those OS's don't have the bugs that Windows does. Microsoft only released XP when they did
I wish everyone here would stop complaining about viruses. By now, after having windows for such a long time, all you Windows users should have learned to cope with the extreme amount of flaws and security "imperfections". Windows motto should be "Learn to deal". What you get is what you pay for. You want a $500 PC with a craptastic OS? Go ahead and take it, but quit complaining. If you're sick of windows, get a mac, or at least get linux. ANYTHING is better than an OS ripped fr
n...no we dont.
