Truthfully skinning for Vista isnt a priority anymore unless your selling themes. XP still has over 50% of the desktops and Win7 passed Vista last spring in usage.Vista never topped 20% and is declining. I knew exactly what you meant Bubba...part of the problem also is...skins just dont sell terrifically well under the best of circumstances. Its a luxury...with a limited audience. So protection is a two edged sword.Its important because EVERY sale is important...and its dangerous because your customer base isnt large enough afford irritating your good folks. I need the end user to be able to substitute an image if he needs to substitute a text file if needed Its about customization...the end user should have the right to make it work how they want...if the protection scheme dosnt bugger that up then maybe it can work.

As someone whose skins do NOT sell well I can say that any lost sales do hurt.But Bubbabyte makes a good point,most of those people would NEVER buy a skin so I havnt lost much there. Its the normal background bmp...its not recoloring on Any of the OS's. [e digicons]>_>[/e] [e digicons]#:([/e] Text colors dont work on glass backs on Win7. Its a crapshoot sometimes...things dont even stay transparent across the OS's...stuff thats trans on 7 may not be on Vista.A window color and text may be ass backwards from 7 to Vista.There just isnt enough consistency...even the taskmanager is using different colors from 7 to Vista.

Imageshack had detours for you after clicking an image so I didnt use them.Photobucket didnt shrink my images because I used the 1 mb option.But it did start recompressing them to about 50% of what they were at upload. I had always preferrred Photobucket in the beginning because clicking on a photo in a post didnt first send you to an inbetween page like some other image hosting sites. No limit on resolution if you stayed under 1 mb.Worked great. Then I noticed my screens were looking bad and thought I was using Photoshop wrong or something. Turns out photobucket started recompressing all your images to save bandwidth even tho you stayed under the maximum rez and size criteria.

speaking of XP...I checked the latest numbers on OS and browser usage. XP is still over 50% with Win7 passing Vista last spring.(about 20% each with Vista dropping) Firefox is at 45% with IE 678 combined not reaching that.
