It’s not going to replace WB or SkinStudio. It’s for people who want to customize the look and feel of Windows but don’t want to go as far as WindowBlinds.
This. An interesting announcement! Personally I'm not that interested as I'm a retro-head but I think it's a great idea now that I understand what the product does. I also think a completely free version could be made available with r

Hi guys, thanks for your replies and sorry for my late one. To be honest I was putting off telling you that I really wasn't going to follow your advice but hopefully you won't take offence to me saying that so please allow me to explain! My computer may be old but she's an old faithful. I like to think for the most part I know what I'm doing and I don't believe my Windows installation is seriously damaged. I'm fully aware of Microsoft's tools but they run the risk of doing damage simp

Bloody AV is more trouble that it's worth if you ask me. Especially if you pay for it. The number of times I've heard of problems caused by it blocking this, that or the other or interfering here and there... I have what came with Windows 10 but turned off via User Policy settings or whatever it's called but even then it's impossible to completely turn off, which might be a good thing I guess. The point is that it doesn't interfere. This is the solution I've gone with and I expect a backlash

Follow up: I noticed when I rebooted that before WindowBlinds loaded, the same looking Taskbar as after the crash appeared. I then thought to unload WB... and Explorer crashed again! I've now loaded the default Windows theme and rebooted for the 94th time today. Without WB I can hide the taskbar and the Notification Area button seems to work as it should. Now I've loaded WB again so we'll see how things go. It's almost as if WB adds to the problem on each boot. Some of the other Stard

* Mods- Please feel free to move this thread to the appropriate sub-forum once the culprit software is decided on. * I have an infuriating problem and have had it for a while only now it is a lot worse. I am assuming the problem lies with WindowBlinds but that's a guess. I'm also running Fences (which is slow and sends my Explorer to 100% CPU if I move the mouse pointer over my desktop icons), WindowFX (sluggish but reliable, my computer is old) and other Stardock software (but I can'

I get no problems with these two dreams and I have the Full version of K-Lite installed (Mega is only necessary for encoding i.e. creating your own videos). As you seem to have a penchant for customising your installations StarGate, might you have selected some different splitters than the defaults when installing K-Lite? I know when I started using it I wanted to go fiddling around but not really understanding much of it I learnt the hard way to leave most of those custom options alone. Take

Looking at Windows 10's default appearance, it's all square edges and pixels in a way itself so I think we have moved on from that Win 7 look. I reminds me of an old version of the Encarta encyclopedia when Microsoft skinned it all black and square. Looked lovely back then and so Win 10 is very reminiscent of that to me.

Hello everyone. Can somebody explain to me please what the problem is with radio buttons & check-boxes and XP skins in Windows 10? Clearly the work done to get very old skins to work on modern computers is a fantastic labour of love by all involved so it's sad to see that a skin is only 90% usable. It's hard for an ignoramus like me to see why this particular element of the OS (and those + buttons next to extendable menus to a lesser extent) throws WindowBlinds in such a spin. I would hav

Is it possible to upgrade a licence once the wrong type has been purchased without penalty? Also, I was sad to discover that the type that comes with OD is only the basic KM one. Sneaky! ;) In fact I've only now become aware that Multiplicity even has screen mirroring at all from reading this thread; I just assumed the feature hadn't been possible to program!
Hey Just thought I'd mention that Qbittorent looks weird with windowblinds. When you try to make the window bigger using the cursor it makes many overlapping borders and lines. Thanks.
I'm not getting this unless you're referring to the general way that windows can be slow to render with WB when resizing so you get a stuttering effect. This might be a slow hardware problem or with things not up to date. Else it might be a

WindowBlinds' updates have been broken since version 10.8. I've recently had to use the purge tool to start over completely afresh with version 10.84 because I was having problems. I had two entries for WB in my Remove Programs list since 10.82 and the About page on the config app showed 10.8 with certain components having not been updated since May. There was a period when I was not a subscriber but I was still getting update notifications and was able to download 10.84 full version none the

Ah, thank you. I do have it as part of OD but it's one of the newer apps so I didn't realise it existed! Object Desktop is a great deal (free plug), even if DesktopX and ObjectBar are no more. [e digicons]:'([/e] Gone, but not forgotten...
The issue is the toolbar. It renders the icons over on the left, but it still thinks under the hood that they are over on the right. You have to move the mouse to the right to get the actual operations.
Interesting. I wonder if this is the same for all apps that operate in this mode. Do Stardock have many users who use Arabic et al I wonder?

The installation went fine and both it and WB were even reporting that no further updates were available; however, I was not getting an About page like as shown. It was only because I saw that screenshot that I bothered to check. Only once I had unloaded WB and then run the install

Try updating your graphics drivers. And backup your important files! When your HDD finally gives up the ghost, you can just bung a new one in there and install Windows (or Linux) from scratch via DVD or memory stick (download from Microsoft or the distro website of your choice). You'll still have Windows activated or use the code on the back of the machine.

I get black bits, or at least I have in the past, and that was when the software was telling me I had the latest version installed but didn't (please see my previous post). It seemed to occur when you can tell Windows needs a full reboot (I hibernate my machine between sessions) and other things start to fall apart e.g. Explorer using too many resources etc., not just the visuals; you know what I mean? I've just loaded Corporate and it's fine for me, for now. Saying that though, I hav
