Is it just me or does the AI in beta 2 not use mines as much as before? I mean, that's good because I don't want to be mine spammed, but in the game I was playing they didn't use any...

@GoldenShadow - This might help: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/157939 Here are two more minor bugs. The first one is an issue with the sentence in one of the research items. Essentially, it's a grammar issue and it needs to be re-worded. The next is an issue with Starbase fighters. They are actually appearing under the ships bar one the left-hand side of the planet. Personally, I think they should go under the defenses and

There appears to be a clipping issue with the movement of some of the asteroids in the menu system in Sins beta 2:

I was playing a game tonight and had a huge fleet parked inside a wormhole. Every once in awhile, when my ships would move around and attack enemies coming in, some of my ships would accidentally jump to the other side through the wormhole. I didn't even tell them to do this which made it very frustrating. There needs to be some additional checking to make sure the ships have been ordered through the wormhole before moving.

I think mines should be an option (just like pirates have become). I was playing a game tonight and just had to stop because it was a medium sized map and eventually got to the point where attacking an enemy gravity well became impossible because there were so many mines. I had a huge fleet and 6 scouts. This wasn't even enough. Almost my entire fleet got destroyed. Then, because there are random ships in the area, my units weren't smart enough to figure out to a

I plugged in a different monitor today and fired up Sins Entrenchment beta (w/hotfix) and went to change my resolution from 1900x1200 to 1280x1024. It automatically set it to 1024x768 but all the other options for resolution don't work. The apply changes button is greyed out.

This also happened to me as TEC. When I added another ship to the fleet (originally just the one) it seemed to work correctly though.

I think higher level programming languages that abstract away details like garbage collection and other things are still useful. If you need to write something quickly, do a mockup of a GUI, or need some easy OS neutral code, then a high level language is an OK choice. Obviously if you need fast system performance you'll want to use something lower level like C to get all the performance you can out of it. Higher level languages open up programming to more people which is us

Given the experience Stardock has had with the diplomacy in Galactic Civilization games, I think it would be nice to try to take some of these aspects and incorporate them into the second diplomacy expansion. Essentially, the ability to sell/trade/barter anything was really cool in GalCiv games. You could become a huge trading powerhouse by supplying weapons to two sides in a conflict or be an industrial giant and supply arms to one side to fight off a common enemy. It would

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I tried pre-ordering the new expansion but the only option was credit card. Will Paypal be available on launch day? Thanks.
Did you install a driver for your new monitor as well? If windows sees it as the default Plug and Play monitor, it won't report the supported resolutions to the game properly.
I just installed the drivers for the monitor and it is now not listed as Plug n Play. However, Sins still doesn't show the correct resolution in the list. BTW - It's a Samsung T240HD LCD widescreen. <

I had a 4:3 LCD monitor and played Sins on it at a regular resolution. This monitor died so I got a widescreen monitor. I launched Sins 1.1 beta 2 and went to change the resolution but I only got this: So I read online how to change it by specifying the resolution the configuration file. This seems to work but the correct resolution still isn't showing up

Another thing that might help is if the AI examined the structure of the graph/network of planets/stars and identified chock points to mass fleets in order to guard against attack.
