I think the coders have determined the problem has to do with certain video cards...some on-board and (it appears) all NVidia cards, so we'll be coming up with another solution for those computers that hopefully looks as good as the current point-sprite meathod <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/s

Should the Background stars be showing up at this point? There is an awful lot of black, and the nebulas show up (they look great!) Thanks
I don't know if this has been reported but the date is shifted to the right.
Are these implemented yet? I can hardly see any, I have tried messing with the contrast\gamma\and one other lighting control in game with no help.
I get the same thing, a hard lock
Has anyone heard when the Beta is going up?
I tried running smartexception and got no log

The clicking on menu items such as "auto survey" is currently broken and CariElf has confirmed in the Bug Reports thread.
When I select my survey ship and click on the "I" for information, none of the "sentry, Defend, Auto Survey, etc..." can be selected. I have not had much time to mess with the game so I do not know if this is true for all ships. I downloaded the latest version on AP and wanted to check out the new campaign.
Sure I could ask if I really wanted to, but why not have a simple button or option for default alignments? Then all the people who have been put off by these boards could get them.
How do you set a races alignment back to it's intended alignment after you have played a game where you have changed it? I haven't seen a default option or a button anywhere to set it back to it's default.
I agree for GalCiv 2 they put a lot more effort into espionage, and something like BIRTH OF THE FEDERATION or even MOO3 will give some ideas on what we want.
Did this not happen for Drengin.net users? Is the earliest we will see an update Friday?
Civ3 at least had the dishonor trait. If you conquered someone after abusing the AI the next civilization would be less likely to deal with you. You would get a message to the effect that they heard what you did to "so and so" and that they would not fall for it too.
In MOO3 they had implemented this. Where you could mark planets that you would mark as planets that colonists could migrate to. This would be nice when you have newly colonized planets. Depending on morale of other planets and the morale of the planet in question to a maximum amount per turn you could have people shuttled to the new planet. Or something like that. Just an idea that I had been thinking of last night why I played a game last night.
Isn't there supposed to be an update today? I think the final release won't be till next month.
Never Mind
Alpha 1 of what? The expansion? GalCiv 2? I am confused here and I didn't see anything new on stardock central and I have a Drengin account.
Your monitor making noise after being on for a while would tend to point to a hardware problem and not a software or driver issue. That is why I asked.
After playing for a while, my montior starts making a weird squealing sound. I have no idea why. You are reporting this here because?
Resources are showing on tactical map even for sectors not investigated by me. It looks like when any of the AI opponents are scouting and come across one it will show up on the mini map for me. And you can see it show during the time the AI ships are moving.
cool, thanks
