http://i.imgur.com/KUVOg5B.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kAZyfKs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oHsUreo.jpg imo second one looks best. I'll ask my buddy if he can do something about the query image. The ones above were easy enough with paint and a little bit of blending with gimp :> query is a whole new level.
OShee
A friend of mine helped with the aura, I hope it's not too thick. Edit: ok I see it, it's too thick. I'll see what I can do with it. Unless Maiden beats me to it :P Edit2: alright, here are 3 versions: <img src="http:/
I made a replacement for Dream Conclave, so it doesn't look like Dream Conclave 2 (Fantasy Conclave). The problem is, I don't know how to make the background neutral, so when you build it on the planet, you see white box :( someone else could fix it. But even then query image will still be the same (it's beyond my skills to make a new one). Alternatively, we can use Fertility Clini
I really like them, fits them as a specie :) However this part I would rather see in first or second tech: "We are different from other species in how we govern ourselves. We believe every individual is equal to another regardless of birth, social standing, wealth or intellect." Something tells me this exposition will be better if earlier in the tree.
These techs grant +10 morale which is nice but not OP.
This is on top of normal
So from 75 to 0 then? Well it proves your point. I'll have a look at it.
Yes, my last game screens of economy and research graphs looks like they done great. Reducing food bonus helps them in the long run. Maybe reducing it to +25 would be enough, but we might as well go all the way and reduce it to 0. At least we will be sure that AI sets better tax %. If they make bad research decision of course th
By "sometimes" I meant like, well, most of the time :) But even if they colonize in no-ones influence, that's still better than what we have now :>
But otherwise, where do things stand?
As far as I know, playtest/balancing stage. As Mabus wrote: "We're at the tweak/polish/play test cycle and enjoying the fruits of our labour. When stuff pops up, we address it." All settings just like in my last game, but Fast tech speed, no tech trade and Large galaxy with Scattered Stars. Tested G version with my tweak of removin
Question 1: Drengin SA seems weakest of all, is there a possibility of editing Dominator Corvette's, so they could have +1 more weapon? Like adding another Rail gun or something? Question 2: So what about Ultimate Slaveling Lab, should we nerf it like CoL? Or increase research cost for the tech slightly? It's 10k tp for other races to get to 12tp lab, Korath/Drengi can get USL for only 1700 tp.
Painful, Huge, Abundant Habitable, Common Planets, Abundant Stars, Loose Clusters, Normal tech speed, Common Asteroids, Occasional Extreme. By mistake I forgot to switch off tech trading. Tech brokering off. First of all, AI is doing really well. I felt pressure as long as I played in the dark without ctrl+u. I'm second in production, 2rd in economy (thank you morale mining base), but 8th in military :D All while being 1st in research (thank you research mining
Krynn never had Majesty and Total Majesty techs, which should max out their Diplo at 185. It made me realise I made a mistake in my sheet adding up their Diplomacy as well :> Unless you added those techs to them just now.
I'd like your opinions on this one. In the next version I've made some small changes to the Terrans, Drath and Krynn
Sounds good :)
Yor TV shows
I would totally watch that lol! Battlestar Galactica from Cylons point of view. Mind blown :D You make strong points. So yeah, let's stick with solution 2. Seems most reasonable.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/r8xjnsv3vx93s7d/tech%20comparison%205D.ods?dl=0 Fixed some max values by adding bonuses from techs I forgot to include (biggest failure - not including Planetary Defense for any race). Updated changes from new Beta patch. Second sheet shows stats available for each civ right from the start (I included starting GAs/SPs). I was working on a third sheet, predi
I'm working on updated spreadsheet. Other then that - Drath have access to both Drathian Temple and Minor Hatchling Mount, both have same price, same maintenance and same 15 morale bonus. Hatchling Mount further down in the tech tree is not improving on Minor Hatchling Mount or Drathian Temple, all of them having 15 morale bonus.
We could exchange the diplo for an influence penalty. But I don't know. Being bad at diplo seems to fit them.
They already have non existent Influence. With Diplomacy, not the penalty is the problem. The problem is they have no way of catching up with even Korath and Drengi as the game progresses, which are supposed to be worst at it. Only two ways of making them better then Drengi are removing the penalty, or giving them some unique techs helping them out.
In the spreadsheet I marked Iconian Research as problematic, but that was because I forgot about their GA from Precursor Studies. I added later it but never changed the color back to normal. Sorry about the confusion if anyone is scratching their head thinking "what the hell?" :D And yes, I only want to change things that seem way off or are not in parallel to descriptions, like Altarians weakness being one of their strenghs. AI is much better thanks to all contribution
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ht00w4y9ziuh9n5/tech%20comparison.ods?dl=0 Now there is couple of things I think should be addressed (marked in red in the spreadsheet): Yor: -15 Diplomacy Racial Ability should go. They are already at 45 compared to average 121. This will put them at 60 which is still 30 lower then Korath and Drengin. They are supposed to be weak at culture, and culture=/=diplo
Population doesn't play such an important role after hundred or two turns have passed, so I agree it can stay on 40%. Any reductions to Inluence, Research and Diplo will make it a better game. I think it's best if we keep them at 30% max, but whatever you decide, it's still better then 50%. I'm glad not only I saw a problem with it, I though maybe something was wrong with me lol. Some of the weaknesses in the tab where you pick your opponents d
Exactly my thoughts, I already begun to write edit of my previous post but I'll post it here instead: In vanilla, Research, Diplomacy and Influence all started at 5% for 1 point and capped at 30-35% compared to Social and Military Prod (10% and 50% respectively). All three of them help you achieve a victory sooner; Faster research at the beginning = faster pop growth, better improvements, economy and diplomacy techs. Plus technology victory. Diplomacy helps with no
Repair - leave just one option, 1 cost for 40% because seriously, who picks it anyway? Anyone with the right mind will pick any other bonus if it costs 3. I gave Thalan another shot, tell me what you think. Artificial Governments Allows us to begin researching advanced types of governments. Each culture has its own governme
Personally I wasn't sure I went in good direction with Thalans, so I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens. Only 60 turns in, Iconians seem to be behind in everything. Thalans, Torians, Drengin and Drath all have some military and seem to research well, I haven't met Arceans and Korx yet as they are on opposite side of the large galaxy, but Iconians have no tech to trade with me and their research, economy and industry ratings are bottom low. I'll send some
One more thing. One of the anomalies gives you +5 espionage bonus. AI can pick up several of them and still have horrible economy because of that. I suggest scrapping this one out altogether or reverting it back to +1. @Darca In that case Thalans will stay with voting and democracy, as it is impossible to write anything without making up some lore :X :P
Ripples Of The Past Allows us to start restoration of our governing structure. Back in our space-time, we tried to equip our strike force coming to this galaxy with best possible equipment. But because of it's advancement compared to local technology, we ran into problem of reproducing it on larger scale. From shortages of energy suppl
Drath changes. In our out? /// Me like :) Planetary Invasion unlocked by Space Weapons. In or out? /// In Space Defense unlocked by Space Weapons. In or out? /// In, I have seen my share of Defenders with only defences on board Military Starbases as Industry to keep research costs down. Good or bad idea? /// I never build them, no opinion. Military Starbases unlocked by Space Weapons. In or out? /// See above -25 Espiona
Hmm, interesting. I can try to use idea of pheromones in some way. I was thinking about describing their society as matriarchal and stuff, but with more modernish take. Basically royalty, based on medieval nobility with great houses ruled by Queens. This is a base on which diplomacy/influence/morale and parties can be worked with. Second idea was Thalans using their computers to determine ruling party, just like their research is described, but this rules out any influence of
Thank you :) I didn't know about Drath involvement, I never player original Galactic Civilizations. Now that you mention it, Terrans may not be that bad. Although you are right, Thalans would somehow fit Good at the same time, as defenders of the Universe. I don't have an opinion on that anymore, so I'll let you decide. I had a look at the Iconians, and well, their economic tech tree suggests that they are abandoning communism in favour of capitalism, so if we chan
