Best Way to Burn/Backup Altarian Prophecy version of Galciv? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

What's the best way to burn/backup the game now that i have installed the Altarian Prophecy? Once it is burned onto my cd...will i be able to play it in a year from now on another pc as long as i have the serial #? Douglas :)

the 1.21 patch is coming as soon as the Altarian Prophecy is released. The 1.21 is for the standalone Galciv without altarian prophecy or with it.

Thanks Cari..It's just that it was a big news item months ago on the front page here, by Frogboy, re: 1.21. I guess he decided to push it back to coincide with the Altarian Prophecy! -Doug :)

I believe a mod in the library allows you to search anomolies and they can be very rewarding or else space sharks. I suppose using this will increase the appearance of these critters.

Thanks Cari! I only ask because it was an item on the main page a few weeks ago (www.galciv.com) re: 1.21 and the minor aliens not being able to be the first to produce trade goods and such. The changes for 1.21 seem so good to me that I've held off playing to wait for it! hehe ;) Doug

Ok..Seems like i should do both..archive and back it up plus save the game dir and subdirectories as to keep my mods and after the game is unpacked again, overrite the folders and subfolders with my game dir and subdirs save. Doug :)

Thanks! The thing is that i have mods. Does the archiving, backup your mods as well as everything else? If so, That's the way for me to go. IF not, i'll copy the directories and then overrite the newly created directories after another install. Doug :) [Message Edited]
