Everyone here who is talking about how necessary and important the +experience bonuses is horrible at numerical analysis.
Something pretty constructive and well written. I'm actually horrible at math so i decided to do some, because I found your statement hilarious. - Have a hero level 7 without any xp booster. Typical sidekick of a powerful hero/sovereign. - Have him and his group win a battle against:</p

Yep I can confirm that Berserked units cast spell and use abilities. Although it is stated in the description of the berserk skill "that it would prevent units from casting spells" i'm not sure about abilities such as crushing blow or shield bash. I had my Sovereign use berserker on several occasions only for him to use "Stoneskin", "Giant Form" for instance. Also Berseked units tend to flee at low hp like any other unit

Allright! So After reading your post Suntechnique, I decided to try out a Commander build with a Trog custom faction. Reaching as high as 184 accuracy on Juggernauts I was able to claim a Sub 200 Master Quest victory in Ridiculous difficulty. And I noticed today they planned for v 0.52 on changing the -15 accuracy from each successful maul strike to -15%, which is

Right now Heroes stand for supports in armies wether it is via stat boosting (commanders, defenders), damage & crowd control (mages) or summoning (mainly mages), which I think is the way to go. The major problems in LH imho comes from: 1) the swarm bonus, which negates entirely the point of having a warrior hero (or sovereign) who will get oneshot, several times during a game and to a certain extent, defenders in the late middle game onward who can't wit

If I may piggyback on this thread to post my own discoveries: Shadows appearing during combat when overing the mouse on the side of the tactical battle. (V0.50) Recruited a hero in the scrapyard as a custom faction but couldn't see it nor use it, but had an icon for it in the unit tab on the top left corner of the screen. Quick markets and low taxes once you hit some milestone early technology and you can jump from -x to (usually) ~+6 gildar per turn. Beasts tamed via beastlord does not cost wages. Commander heroes with the starting gildar trait. Wealthy trait. There are many ways around negative gildar early game.

Just discovered this thread! I really don't like crimsongekko's idea of limiting building improvement to your original ZoC, this would leave a ton of resources not exploitable. This game is still only SP, so basically if it annoys you just let the auto placement do the job for you. This is hardly what we can call an advantage over the AI.
Quoting 25Atan, reply 11 Mid game i'm using scrolls for 70-110 damage, instant cast, hitting at least 6 units. Late game easily hitting for 150+ damage AoE. Wiping towns in basically one turn apart from 2 units for 90 gold. No one runs frost resist so it's basically never reduced and when it is resisted, hits for a mere 45+ mid, 75+ damage late game. Note that there are other ways of achieving comparable effects. &

We are not even talking about preferential treatment heren there is a problem with the monsters not recognizing AI units as enemy. I really bad when it comes to uploading, but I have ascreenshot of an AI pioneer unit standing right ON TOP of a silt skath army. I mean come on........ [e digicons]X|[/e] Already put forward the stacking of enemy units onto allied units so that they would be basically been immuned to being engaged by an army and now that. </p

Well I am a noob at modding, couldn't find the file to put the new lines in. Oh well... I hope this gets enough visibility so Stardock gets to see it and work on it, maybe for 1.1
Not if your sovgan level up and gain troop from quest, that you don't need to worry about it...it's might truth 2 player map but 8 player map, a.i fighting other, gave me more time to get reseached...only you need to train troop ahead i

Yep militia seems to only appear for on battle if two successive battles are fought on the same turn. Actually solved the mystery of defense on enemy militia, depending on difficulty all AI units get free traits including Ironskin, which i'm ok with actually. I agree that depending on the type of city, defense should change (mages instead of archers), more basic defense for fortresses (like one more milita archer). Also agree that weapons shou

In the current Meta this building as little to no purpose: - % reduction on buying new champions is good BUT generally comes too late/ you run adventurer perk very often (which I do)/ you run wanderlust which negates the use of this bonus. - 25% on 1 exp per season is worthless. Only heroes that are going to take advntage of it are governors. I rarely use governors unless one hero gets injured badly before level 4, cause i'm not going to go

This is a question I asked myself several times now. How come our militia wields club while we have the weaponsmith tech researched, while when we attack any AI city and their sovereign had any weapon tech researched their militia instantly upgrade and fight with longswords and boreal blades. The same question arises looking at the defense of their militia while our militia stays at 0 defense. I've seen AI militia from a city with 4, 6, 15 defense... where does it c
Are the scrolls buffed by shards as well?
Yes. Base damage is 19+4 per water shard x by your common mage modifiers (equipment, path of the mage and such). For this reason limiting the number of shards taking effect is not enough as the base damage will be high anyway. Also, while I have the most utter respect for modders, I don't have any skills in modding myself, so I wouldn't know how to do this. &
the problem with magic scrolls is that nobody will use or look at them if they're too much of an investment.
While I would agree that making expensive a scroll that is hardly useful would be completly uninteresting, I would still buy 10 Damn Blizzard Scrolls if they were 200 gildar a piece for 2000 gildar, because the effectiveness of the spell in itself is so high. There is no specific reason to weaken t

Hello everyone, So I've got this little idea in my head for a while now, and I think nobody created a specific thread for it, that concerns the troops that you can train. Cooperation, Logistics and company, if I'm not mistaking let you increase the size of your regiments. In a similar manner, mounted warfare and the warg technology make you be able to train mounted troops. Now what I would LOVE to be

I totally agree with the OP on the point that being able to see the face of your sovereign/heroes (custom or not) should be a clickable option even though he has an helmet. I think having his face visible giving a boost to morale troops his too far-feteched though. Even more so of it is a stackable bonus according to the number of champions without helmets. This would be fluctuating if you play altar for exemple and have a ton of heroes, or if you play

I never really thought about the specific bonuses your talking about being a problem until your post. These being mechanisms already implemented would make them difficult to redesign but I think it should be possible to tone some of them down ( for instance, make the level 3 town bonus which gives 10% HP boost to all your troops available only once). The more you play the more you standardize some strategies to make them effective. Now that does mean you will usually wa

Tuidjy just got himself nerfed :( ! Although the title of this thread is totally paradoxical and quite funny, it only exemplifies the common ground which is that the AI can't handle all in strategies early on when playing under ridiculous diffculty. This is link to the way the AI behave by expanding in a suicidal fashion and the fact that is only vary rarely produce units early. Make them produce a couple of spearmen, militia,

Hunter could definitly use some love. The double loot on monsters, gilden loot on beasts, scouting traits, crit chance buff are all nice idea. Why not making it a niche for piercing damage and scaling initiative ( like + x% piercing damage, +1 initiative per level), would go well with path of the assassin to get some kind of thief sovereign playing with bows from range or spears in melee, acting quick and proving deadly. Bandit Lord - Lots of good suggestion. Honestly y
