Well, sorry to say, but the first think I would do is turn off the "Blur" and if I could turn off transparency I would do that too. To me, seeing anything behind another window or dialog is extremely distracting. I see from the screen shot that you can indeed turn of the blur, but if a skin was built with transparency, can that be turned off in Windowblinds 6 also? To all those in the UK, I hope the flooding passes quickly for you and your lives get back to normal soon. I lived in the

Well, I for one find this whole matter ridiculous. Why would a site such as WC, a highly respectable site, post a link to a WAREZ site for all to see so that the entire world could go and download all the illegal themes that are there? Would it not have been better to notify each individual separately and work the issue in a more 'quiet' manner? This situation should have been handled in a completely different manner, and if you had any sense you would completely removed this post before more

I would like to announce the grand opening of the new MaxStyles.com! John Gordon (vStyler) and I have teamed up to create a fantastic site for all to enjoy. Not only will you find Master Skinner vStyler's work here, but those of many other well known artists as well. Great works by I.R. Braniac, Aroche, Basj, Gef, Kitty Malone, Brihana1 and Messiah1 can be found throughout the site. Winamp skins, Xion skins, DesktopX, Rainlendar, Sysmetrix, you name it! If you don't see it there now, it will

Sheesh! That's all I gotta say, took me almost an hour to read all this and all I can say is, why can't we all just learn to get along? There is not one product, one person, or one company that is better than the other out there, and never will be! There are just more talented people, and all talent should be appreciated. This is a skinning community for cryin' out loud! Windowblinds, StyleXP, UXTHEME.DLL patch, who cares! This is not a place to gripe about petty issues like this! <img src

OK, I admit she is 24 as I have now read her bio, but I still disagree with that type of image being shown, it is very sexually suggestive. As she is a model known for her 'schoolgirl looks', I can see why many people also find it offensive. Oh well, back to real life.

Sorry Brad, but I have to agree that the image of that girl is offensive, at least to me. There is absolutely no reason to use children in images that portray them in and indecent manner such as this. That is not an adult, it is no more than a 9-12 year old child to me, and I would need someone to prove to me otherwise.

Thanks Jafo... Just so everyone knows also, I did not enter the competition at all, so I have nothing to gain by commenting other than trying to improve it for next year. At least that is my intent. JafoNovember 2, 2006 09:17:03Reply #55 Surely someone

Zoomba and Frogboy, While I do not agree entirely with your comments, I respect them and the good intent of the GUI Competition in general. I just realy feel that the judges in these type of events should have a thorough working knowledge of SkinStudio, WB5 and an excellent knowledge of judging graphics quality, etc. before they should be considered qualified to be a judge. Or at least someone with these qualifications should go over each submission before they are allowed to be placed

FrogboyNovember 1, 2006 23:30:02Reply #31 LightStar, the judges don't read the comments. and I'm not a judge (unless one of the judges isn't able to vote). I have my opinion tastes and opinions. Why don't the judges read these comments? It would make mor sense if they did. Surely someone who cares reads them?

I normally do not post negative comments, but this definitiely needs to be said. First of all, your categories for any and all submissions in this competition are entirely too vague and need to be more specific as to exactly what is evaluated in each category, and all submissions evaluated accordingly. I also really think someone needs to stop this competition and pick new judges for evaluating WindowBlinds submissions. It is quite evident that the present ones need some refre
