Unrest is a mechanic that adds depth, realism and fun to the game. Depth because it is one more factor to care about, realism because it resembles what would happen in a similar situation if it could be "real" and fun because having to properly manage your cities is a big part where the fun comes in a 4X.
There's that word again: 'Realism'. Realism is for flight simulators. For every gram tha
Wow, all of this unrest over unrest. I for one, enjoy the mechanic. It's realistic and it's challenging to overcome, which adds to the strategy concerns. i don't remember any of this dissent when it was introduced in Legendary Heroes. i say stick with it, Frog. We can give feedback once it's introduced. How long until the opt in beta choice?
I think unrest was first brought into games to counter the desire from a few gamer's for city spamming. It was fail then, and is still fail today. There has to be a better way such as the one city per region system used by Endless legends. Anything but unrest. :) What ever the reasons for it, I don't think unrest is the answer.
With LH, I have to stop playing, so that I can handle unrest. Like answering the door, phone, or fixing the shed roof in the snow, it drags me from game-mode and slaps me into work-mode. How can this be classed as fun? It's a game, not a political simulator for gauging the feel-good-factor of young voters.
So if we had called it Thralldom instead of unrest would that have changed it for you?
I doubt in the long run it would have made any difference at all, but it might have made you look silly for naming it so. :)
Suggestion removed through lack of enthusiasm.
My first impression of the games direction were......... There was you, the hero, your dog Barney, and a few brave followers who embark on a quest to unite the few remaining survivors to do battle with the sorcerer king ONE last time. So was I wrong, are we instead to be treated to yet another city building/management game? <span style="font
Funny that! Who asked for UNREST to be introduced? I didn't see anyone asking for UNREST to be introduced. You are making this up as you go along aren't you? Unrest! I hate with a passion in game's such as this. It's the only reason I stopped playing the total war series. Unrest belongs only in games like sim-city, other than that its distracts and breaks game flow, and
That sounds pretty cool. ^^
Thank you. There are probably one thousand and one reasons why this wouldn't work, but no harm done. :)
My suggestion is... Not knowing the strength of bandit camp/ monster lairs unless you have a ranger and/or the spell of seeing. A ranger only, would give you 30% accuracy A spell of seeing only, would give you 70% accuracy Having a ranger and casting the spell of seeing would
From what I have seen and played so far Frogboy, this could very well be your best game to date. :) I only ask one thing. When people start shouting for harder, tougher, more challenging. Have a thought for the normal casual players, whom only wish is to play a game and hold no fantasy's of being nailed to a fence, then spanked and whipped.

I want to get involved in the discussion, but you are using to many big words. [e digicons]#:([/e]
Absolutely fantastic. Every single bit of news or update on this game has me dribbling down my bib. I have not been this excited since I managed to break my Tonka truck.
Core! Nice. Thank you for this nice juicy first patch. Enjoy your weekend won't you? [e digicons][/e]
I've been arguing with Derek re good and evil. the Sorcerer King is the good guy, the player is the bad guy.
That would be such a twist to the norm. One advantage of being evil would not feeling bad about killing bunny's and virgins.
Good, good. So you give this your Microsoft seal of approval then?
The early game has already impressed me, so these ideas, for now, and the future are quite exciting. I am not sure what some of it means, but it still sounds exciting. :)

I remember a time long, long, ago when computer games made you happy and elated. You could not wait to get home from work to play them. When all this anger and frustration came in I don't really know. It's sort of turned the whole object of games on it's head. I blame mobile phones. :)
The worst type of troll is your basic bully, they want only to see you cry. In my experience, developers that are both witty and polite, seem to be mostly immune to trolls, and on occasion have actually won the troll over. The troll becoming a dedicated fan. :) I don't really think it's possible for a few trolls with their bad reviews t
I'm taking a break from the Steam forums. They actually make me not want to make games.
Frogboy, Don't you think this a little unfair? I have taken a look at the steam forums, and apart from a couple of trolls, the majority are fans are excited by the game, and its future prospects. Fan's are encouraged and mad
