ah, that makes since! didn't even think about that. thanks! they probably want to sell more games and are hoping 2 people can just hook up via ethernet to two in home computers and play that way maybe?

Hi all, I am on my second game of GalCiv2. I first played beginner and small map with 4 enemies to get the hang of it. I was researching random stuff and started getting some really good ships pretty quickly and had a good economy! Then i beat it with little difficultly. So I got somewhat cocky and am playing on challenged with everything else on random. There are 8 players total, i'm assuming rare planets to colonize and a pretty large map. I don't think it is the big
this might sound dumb, but what is hot seat? it is different than playing someone over the internet/lan?
thanks, i'll check out the site, Realm. you are correct Willy. i was just using Ivy Bridge as an example. i'm looking into them for a new desktop. my laptop has "Quad i7-740QM". i think that is the first gen of i7.
i think a lot of it is that i am new to the game and there are still a lot of aspects that i do not understand. so they seem a little overwhelming/too micromanaged to me for now! i'm sure once i start to understand the game more, i'll be a little less turn happy and be able to use these extra features to my advantage. :-) also, the entire time that i am playing galciv2, i am comparing everything to BOTF... LOL so i'm always thinking, wow i love this feature, or ohhh i wish
1. Birth Of The Federation 2. Galactic Civilizations 2 I've watched some youtube videos of other games and some look fun. I hear Master of Orion is great. But these are really the only true 4X games that i can remember playing continuously. I am not a huge star trek fan by any means, but i loved the in game features! Very simplistic in terms of use, but the game play is also very in depth. The downside is that it takes so long when waiting for your t
thanks Realm! i consider myself pretty tech savy, but i did not know that nearly as in depth of you. i usually just go by socket and the price of the CPU. then i wait for prices to go down and upgrade to extreme if it works out. but i don't think it would be simple/possible or cost efficient to upgrade the CPU in my laptop... i'm more of a desktop guy... lol thanks again for the info!!!
i'd like to see trade setup a little different. rather than building a freight and sending it to a world, just setup trade routes and have freights magically appear and start trading. if they are destroyed, then pay to rebuild. but it seems a little too in depth to go through the process of setting up trade. but i do like having to research it first! like the image below, simply select the world that you want to trade with. but only have a certain number of trade routes until you research
is it possible that some of the standard founders will get access to alpha as well? obviously not in the beginning, but for instance if not as many people purchased the elite founders package as expected? i'm borrowing galciv2 ultimate from my buddy and loving it. so i'm ok with waiting for beta. kinda... LOL never played galciv2 before. only sins of a solar empire. i like galciv2 much more! but i keep comparing it to BOTF though... lol both great games!
i just bought into the founders $39.99 group! :-)
I bet it will be $39.99 again on black friday! lol
Thanks for the input. I guess i thought this was going to be like Sins, so i was a little turned off. But still interested. I plan on buying GalCiv2 Ultimate tonight. The more i'm reading about it and some of the much older forums that come up in the google results, it looks very similar to BOTF! @ ofRealmTruFaith : I thought that i7 wa
Hi all, I kind of got into Sins of a Solar Empire a few years ago. I mean played it some and enjoyed it, but I never played it enough to get past the learning curve. I think part of the problem was that I played on my laptop and without a mouse. So i think i recall navigation being a pain for me... lol Its been awhile. And I kept wanting to compare it to BOTF; which was an amazing game that I still occasionally play today!!! Do you think this new game will still have the same
