good eye, ill double check all of my borders and do the placement tests on the ones Ive finished. I prefer the spikes as well. Ive got a solid idea for the monument but ill have to take a closer look at the default labor pit and mess around for the labor pit, as Ive only got a vague idea of what I want to do with it (somehow emphasize the slave aspect). yeah, the skull is above a rib cage that the effect is sitting inside of. You can just make out the edges of the ribs on it. Alternatively i could just have the head and put it in the center of the fire. Getting the effects to save without overwriting each other in the cauldron was a pain though. Other options for the death legion would be a hell hound type of unit (modified wolf/ quadraped) with a body or aura of fire/lava. Or a cacodemon type creature might be possible (such as the pink demon in doom) where the head and torso are merged for a large face in the middle of its body- it might be doable with a special piece of body armor that covers the head. Or a full helmet might work as well. You could do a light elemental looking creature for the angels. A
That's a great look, I think. Could you check to see if there is any more appropriate model than the statue? A slowly rotating thing like the kingdom study has might work, but I don't remember the colours on it. Also, if you have the models left, a barrel or two between the statue and the building, in the open area, would help fill the void. Perhaps a given volume or percentage of the map terrain converted? Such as the area of influence that converts terrain. I like the idea of tying it to the 'restoration of the world' thing. maybe have to research all of the civic techs?
You could limit it by making them one per faction, but have a few different ones available. Kind of make the player choose how to specialize each lvl 4 city with them. Not sure if you would want to limit it to one of that group to a city (or how it would be done) though.
Do you think the Orchard stone spire is too big compared to other in game structures? I noticed that its on par with the palace for height- which might be a bit too majestic.
