I don’t need to go further. Now it’s time to go back and make adjustments. Stay tuned for part 3.
Heck i will! I hit the refresh button until it glows red [e digicons][/e] . Its very interesting to hear all that stuff. What i thought was a bit disappointing is that that no Faction tried to grab the shards early on for a Manaboost. Ok there are no monsters to fight but
You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how much of ones judgment can be impaired after 3 or 4 months of 90 to 110 hour weeks (and these aren't exaggerated numbers, these are the literal # of hours I was clocked in at the office -- not counting my working from home. It meant 1 to 2 all nighters a week between May and August. In the morning, I did CEO duties. In the afternoon, I did PM stuff. In the evening, I worked on consumer soft
Uhhh time sheningian. That storm that broke relias ship? Totally magical. Knocked Relias 65 years back. [e digicons][/e]
The time-line is awesome. As for the emerging Man (without evolution): In the real world there are many creation Myths like the creation of the first man in the norse Mythology for example. It could make a nice quest/campaign exploring the History of Man creation - the main question would be who did if it wasnt the dragons? A renegade Titan? Heck all in all there so many opportunitys for some realy good and long campaigns. Did i get it rig
With best ranged weapon being longbow with 6 att, even 12-unit stack has problems doing any damage to opposing stacks in armor. We need some late-game ranged weapons, like crossbows, arbalests or enchanted longbows. Something in 10-20 damage range.
The different trinkets can help. you get an additional 4 for at from rings etc.
Yep some more low and mid level variance would be nice. Killing spiders all the time is ... heck iirc you got already a demonic spider entry on tv-tropes.
Well you can get a premium account that makes unicorns available and grants 10% more health to all creature for 12 bucks the month. Naturally there are special premium account items too. [e digicons]:|[/e] Browser games heh. Well if someone wants to do a PC game s/he needs at least to understand 2 things: "Programming" and "Gaming". You can be proficient at ais and graphics etc. but if you are not so good at the gaming part (game theory etc.) you can get a good engin
I want to emphasize that I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still be part of the project and posting plenty but my journals will increasingly be about the part of the game I’ll be involved in most – the computer AI.
Thanks all spirits and ghosts. I mean that you do more ai journals and that you stay in contact with the playerbase. I think actually you should extend the engine in a way that a
@frogboy: Well as you do the new AI-coding could you explain some stuff (certain rules, how the ai does longtime planning and strategies etc.) aka how it works (no code just telling what it does essentially) and to what kind of behaviour it leeds? It would be for sure enlightening for me and some other people here who do coding in general but have not so much insight into AIs.
Hmmm Teleports are indeed powerfull for the player. Since i got caster only dynasties its actually pretty devastating with a half dozen of my children (each around 15-20 Mana). But i did run into one problem. I can deal with one short front line or one choke point (in both Atack and Defense) but teleports are long-range stuff. I can also deploy a half dozen stacks in one single turn - maybe i can do that in lategame twice - after that i am normaly out of mana (or rather out of t
Happened to me too. I used some heros to kill a uninvited guest (Pariden pioneer) and got some billions out of it.
About point 3.11 (if it was already said excuse but tl;dr) there are two other ways to create casters: 1. use two potions of essence to raise the essence stat to 1 (or higher) or 2. sometimes you find a Ring of Essence then you can equip it to a hero After a Level-up (and using points for increasing essence) your hero should be able to cast at least fire-dart or how it was called. The ring (encountered in V1.08) is especially bugge
Yes please. Sometimes i want go around a city that belongs to anoteher faction and my units just walk into the zone of influence of said city. And since i play normaly on the clothmap its sometimes not clear if my units can walk over a coastal tile thus its very ambiguous ifmy unit will use thatpath or not.
Thanks for this Update. The game is much faster now. The last thing in battles that bothers me atm is that the death sequences are to time consuming. Otherwise it looks nice.
Maybe a bell-curve in accuracy would also be good. Thus at high(est) and low ranges the archer is less accurate or does less damage (since damage depends on the arc in which a arrow hits). Also more ranged weapons would be nice say a Crossbow with middle-range good damage but very slow and a sling or javelins for lowrange ranged (like 2 to 3 fields) attacks. The only mounted unit in rl. I know were mongols which used Riderbows on short and middlerange but never on high
hmmm maybe a ring with "phase" (like the shrills) that is sueable two times in battle/per turn.
Frogboy you spoke aboutr the engine. Maybe this is the wrong thread for that but - as soon the few bugs are ironed out - But what are stardocksplans for it? Will you license it? Make it open souceafter X years? Anyway thanks for this update and good luck for the 1.1 - 1.3 versions. I exspect the game to become awesome ^^.
Making the Books own techs with levels and researchable spells sounds nice (i hope i did understand that right.). While you are at it you could implement some spells that draw from multiple Books? Say for summoning a Icelord you may need a 5Th level Water-book and the 8th level summoning book. Furthermore would i like to see magical items bound to research of the books. For example a ring for the unit designer with 2 charges of the "blink" ability if you researc
