that bug has been around for a while. Zooming in and then back out is the workaround, but it probably should be fixed. Yeah, i think we're getting to the point where we can re-prioritize polish oddities like that. Zooming in/out certainly does the trick, but it's definately sloppy.
I made a post about this in the support forum, here , but dep

I've found Az a'Zoth in exactly 1 game I've played and I recruited him immediately. While his stats are pretty good for a champion it was actually the fact that he was so novel compared to the rest that made me hire him... I was sad when he got eaten by spiders a few turns later :(

That's true, I have this vague memory of it happening before but this was the first time I pinned down exactly how to reproduce it. Also I should mention zooming back in to standard view fixing it and when I scroll back out to the cloth map it's normal again.

Yup, it's doing it again. Kind of annoying but nothing major. Big improvement over the 1.08 release and a good step forward for the game as a whole. Keep up the good work and thank you for making a decent game better and better :)

So ^^^ this happens every time I scroll out to the cloth map, press escape to open the menu and hit "back to game" right away. I actually kind of like it, but I don't think it's supposed to be like that. Note: I obviously used the reveal map cheat for that screenshot, but that is not in anyway connected to it doing this, I just felt th

Sovereigns will escape as long as: A. They have at least 1 town (need a place to go) B. They have at least 1 essence (the cost is taken from max essence, so 0/17 essence will be reduced to 0/16) C. They are not in enemy influence (friendly or neutral allows escaping)

Currently there are a very limited number of quests in the higher levels. Level 2 quests there are a few repeatable ones, the potion collections specifically. Level 3 quests I can't remember how many there are but there's only 3 or 4 I think and once those are completed the rest disappear because there's no quests left to give. Level 4 quests there is 2 quests, Dragon Egg and Destiny's Tutor, unfortunately both also have bugs, I've never completed Destiny's Tutor and the Dra

I like to hire a few champions early on in the game to use as scouts. They are really the ultimate scouts (especially the Adventurer champions for the extra movement) for several reasons: 1) They can collect notables which means they can pay for themselves easily. Units can't 2) They can run away this is a big deal for any scout, regular units can't and will eventually just die because something attacks them. 3) Generally they will be hired at

Allegedly the better the stats of the parents at the time of birth (not becoming adult) the better the chance of a child with good stats. But considering my sovereign is usually 5 str, 10 dex, 10 cha, and 15 int/ess/con and my wife is generally Rilis (can't remember her exact stats but they're high, like 18 str) and my children are almost always without fail 10 across the board I don't know. Basically it's random except e

What an odd thread to necro... anyway... Step 1: Recruit a champion of the opposite gender Step 2: Select said champion Step 3: Click the "Actions" tab on the left side of the hud while the champion is selected Step 4: Find the "Gold Ring" icon and click it

It's been like this since at least 1.07 (when I started playing). Not sure if it's 'supposed to be like that' or just is. But it wasn't some random bug that won't happen again. Shards simply disappear once destroyed, including razing a city attached to a shard. So guards on them, or attach them to a defended city, is definitely the way to go.

My opinion is that time and money are limited resources in the production of any game. If a large chunk of both goes towards making something I will watch maybe once and then hit escape to skip ever after... well that's a waste of both and I wish they had put that time and money into making the game (mechanics, replay value, complexity, stability, etc...) better instead.

I'm pretty sure it is: 20% food applies to the city the champion is in Prestige is broken (except on sovereign) 10% production I really don't know, I assume it's either materials or broken since nothing speeds up construction time (very irritating)

Well this sounds similar to something that happened to me with my laptop. I can't remember all the details but basically I was playing a game a then it froze. I restarted and it couldn't load windows properly, all the graphics were screwy in various ways (lines, blocks, blank spots, etc...). I took my laptop in to a computer shop after trying assorted things and was informed the graphics card was shot and that playing lots of high-graphics games on a laptop was a big no-no.<

I've noticed this as well ever since 1.08 (possibly one of the hotfixes, didn't play in between). I assume it's to give the AI a chance against human opponents and reduce the "first round death of everything" problem. I can't say how connected it is to difficulty because I have only played ridiculous since 1.07. I'm kind of on the fence about whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand it seems like kind of a half-assed fix, but then I didn't care mu

They still exist in the map editor if you want to create your own map you can place them easily enough. There is even a rather large selection to choose from so they don't look static and boring. They don't seem to serve any particular function however, just an aesthetic thing really. though you can choose to make them impassable... unfortunately that doesn't stop the game from randomly spawning a crystal crag or goody hut (which you can never get) right on top of it.

-New resource: Pink Space Ponies - only appears on some maps and requires a very large number of turns to build on. Once the resource is linked to a particular city that city must be defended above all else. This resource does nothing except cause every mount you equip on your sovereign to be magically transformed into a Pink Space Pony which does nothing... it just is. -Using the Dynasty system to marry cousins will spawn a special monster "Jerry Ringer" wh

The large maps (only size I play) in game are not random for anything except resource placement and (sort of) starting locations. There are 3 (maybe 4?) large maps the game uses when choosing large world. Each map has somewhere around 20 (?) start locations each nation is randomly placed at 1 and resources are randomly generated after start locations and are based on the start locations (and seemingly difficulty setting as well, harder = more for AI, less for you). If you

Selecting a town a pushing V will also eject all units. This doesn't get around the issue of not being able to select where they are ejected to though. Otherwise it sounds to me like you know as much as I do about it.

You can raze a city completely without any tech research at all. I know there's a tech that supposedly gives the ability but just push X with the city selected and it works from the start. I've done it to AIs that kept building cities where I don't want a city to be.

By turn 185 you should have at least parties of units if not squads. A unit of 4 guys can easily dish out 20 damage in 1 round with 6 attack maces (4x6=24) an army of 2+ units of macemen will easily slaughter those random monsters. Or use a few fireballs, archers.... anything really. With 53 arcane research you could also easily research and summon an Ice Lord or two if you have water magic. Or a fire giant or stone giant. A few of those will put down those wan

I suspect it is an unintended feature because doing the same thing you can get a city that can produce demons as a kingdom race, or any other monster unit unique to empires.

I think somebody needs to learn that when it comes to marketing a game (or anything else) the only guaranteed truth is "A thing by this name exists." I mean really, you're getting uptight about box art? Why don't you go ride one of the game companies that "advertises" their games using only massive CGI clips which have absolutely NO resemblance at all to the actual gameplay? (e.g. Dragon Age Origins) This is a bloody picture on a box. At least stardock didn't rel
