Not a big fan of Mr. Green's Drood books. They are his supernatural detective books. He is just too powerful and supernatural creatures are everywhere and are a dime a dozen. Has some very neat ideas though but just not my taste. I will definitely look into his Deathstalker books for sure. On another note I have just finished "The Girl Who Played With Fire" by Stieg Larsson and it turned out pretty well and the last half of the book was very enjoyable and less smutty than the

Right now there is alot of micro-managing and not enough fantasy empire stuff. Every turn I have to click on cities to make sure they are doing something and then pick what to build and where to place it. Nothing is automated except for the caravans and only they can make roads which is terrible. Can't make new roads unless the caravan dies and you get to send it elsewhere. I really don't like all the focus on the city building. The whole problem with cities not growing in population
I loved the first Darksun computer game as well as the first series based on Darksun. I think the mul was Ricken. Read it a long time ago though. Never understood why they didn't make a NeverWinter Nights mod of Shattered Lands but a mod for Darksun using the Elemental platform would be great.
Nope not here in NB for me either but they did send me an email basically saying it was lost and another one has been shipped this week. Also if two arrive I should keep them both.
The first few books of "A Song of Ice and Fire" are worth it but it being so slow coming kinda sux. I read the first 6 books of the wheel of time but I just lost interest in the books. Not sure if his writing changed or my tastes changed but the whole love tri-angle thing really pissed me off. Only character I ended up liking was Matt.He had alot of great ideas but the story just took over and he wasn't sure how to finish it and wrap up all the story lines. Now that Brandon Sanderson
The best thing about the Malazan series is how big the world is. The stories don't concentrate a person or a party of people but instead concentrates on whole civilizations and the people involved. This is a world where normal people who do extraordinary things can become famous and than "ascend" (become more godlike) and eventually have the power to challenge the gods themselves and take there place in "The Deck of Dragons". I think of this series along the lines of Greek mytho
Thanks for the replies.
Thanks Starvald. Great name you have there. Yeah I just can't wait. I will probably re-read the series just to get rdy for book 10. Gonna be awesome.
I live in Canada but I was wondering if anyone else could confirm that they received it. I have been getting alot of rotten emails lately that are trying to get personal info from me so I am kind of wary.
I have received an email saying that the original copy may have been lost so they are sending another one. Mine was sent on the 24th of August and that is now 2 1/2 weeks ago. Not even the three full weeks yet. I never sent an email complaining or anything. Guess I will be waiting 3 more weeks. They also said if I receive two copies to keep both. Sounds fishy to me as I have been having problems with my hotmail lately. Has anyone else received this email a
That would be great MOIISKA. Thanks :)
Thanks Moiiska I have read the first book in the "Horus Heresy". I did enjoy it quite a bit but I find it hard to find the next books in the series. I am a big fan of "Dawn of War II" and all the nerdy lore that came with it and its expansion.
All factions should have at least different colors and or shades from each other.
You got it in Australia already? Nice. Just waiting in Canada.
Thanks for the info Mauxe I also have enjoyed Patrick Rothfuss and Dave Duncan. Dave Duncans stories about the Kingsblades are great books that all stand alone and are all intermingled. Great stuff. I will have to re-read Patrick Rothfuss again. Kinda rushed through it so I could get into another book. Still finishing the Stieg Larsson book. It is a good book but I am just not that into it but I am half done so I may force myself through it. Daemon by Daniel Suarez sou
How about we remove limits altogether and make housing automated. Every square on the map can produce food except for deserts and rock. This would control you pop and lvl of city. Not enough food you can't grow unless you have caravans bringing food to you. We would also have fertile land bonuses that would give us a certain amount or percentage of extra food. Have the choice of shipping food to other cities, taking 2 food from one city and giving it to another could help create truly
I can understand doing something different but doing something different to be different is stupid. I read in another topic they didn't want to be like MOM because of possible lawsuits. I think that is a cop out.
I think they should so they can join your party instead of getting killed off by monsters sometimes.
Alot of places have bad connections. I live in a place with decent speed but I am capped at 5 gig a month which I pay 90 dollars for. I am trying to move where I can get true highspeed but that is alot of hassle. Can't believe the CRTC in Canada allows the telecommunication companies to blatenly rob people. Canada is ranked as one of the top overcharged country for things like internet and cell phones. Cheaper to get high speed and a good cell plan in alot of the third world countries
No where did I read did it say it wasn't going to be a MOM2.0. It was hinted at and was mentioned by many people and reviewers. Now taking things from all over the genre just to make it different for different sake is bad. Froggy even made a small video about playing MOM way back when. Just because you never said or changed your stance on the game doesn't mean people will want anything less. It should have been made clear that this game is only similarity is the tactical combat. Every other a
I think it would be best if the ruler decided to specialize or just grow everything if you can. In Civ you specialized and made cites either produce science, GP's, gold and production. If you tried to build everything you could get left behind. The reason I invested in this game and followed along was it to be MOM's successor not galciv or SIN's done on a fantasy world. IMHO I think over city management takes from the game. Right now you spam cities and when they hit th
Don't agree with cities having all the same building point. That is why there restrictions based on your cities lvl to what they can build but if I can manage to raise 5 cities to lvl5 I would like them to be able to have all the same buildings. World wonders and civilzation wonders is what we use so you can only have a certain amount of buldings. This citys should have the same buildings is silly. One city is all labourers because you can't build a school there because another city has it. M
Thanks Annatar. I did a clean impulse and removed it from my comp than I re-installed it. I think the problem after searching the web is a faulty d-load of the patch and it got corrupted somehow. UPDATE: This worked. I noticed when I removed Impulse with the cleanimpulse.exe it told me there was a code 2 error. Anyway it worked and I am updated now.
I get a decompression fault error and it can't find the central folder. I emailed star-dock support and I hope they can help.
I deleted it and than re-installed it to no effect. I also registered it. Not sure what I can do.
