Of course, different forms of "teleportation" for different elemental books are possible too. Say... Airwalk - travel to any square within, say, 5 squares of current location (Dimension Door anyone?) Waterwalk - travel from one coastside location to any other coastside location within, say, 10 squares. Earthwalk - travel between 2 of the same resource, yours or neutral, within 20 squares Firewalk - Travel from hearth to hearth (city to city), r

Sure - I'm pretty neutral on having a talent that permits that ... at what cost?
I'm presuming thats tounge-in-cheek! Otherwise why repeat 3 elements, but alternate on the fourth?! Mayhaps that big circley thing under the 'ME' could be elementium. :o)
Definitely - except for the punching a muppet thing. :) I'd be happy to volunteer to work for free to work to build a philosophy around this - I run RPGs based along elemental lines so I have thought these balanced uniqueness thoughts for many years too.
There is no game justification for longer life-spans The requirement need not be that high, its not that high for your sovereign - it's not that they have a long lineage of heriditary rule... in fact, currently its your line that has to be proved worthy to others (e.g. you are worth zero on day 1)! What about the champions line? The point is having the children of two channelers being greater than the sum of its parts - plus it places values on children in dynastie
Also, past research need not be redundant. EG Fire 1 - causes INT*(shard +1) damage to target Fire 2 - causes 2*INT(shard +1) damage to target and INT*(shard +1) damage to all targets 1 square Fire 3 - causes 3*INT(shard +1) damage to 1 target, In a combat, there would different times when you'd use each spell, particularly if mana cost were balanced. Fighting a lone bandit, Fire 1 might be enough Fighting a group of spide
my solution is this: instead of having the spellbooks divided by element, divide them by purpose. ie, no book of water, but instead a book of lesser destruction, book of greater enchanting etc. each of these books contains spells of different elements. ideally, all spells should be linked to elements so that all of them can be improved by shards. books can be chosen to suit your playing style instead of your shards, and ai sovs can be given books that suit th
It is just me, or should the second "L" in Elemental have a yellow triangle in the bottom left corner?
Definitely agree - especially as I have advocated both as well for sovereigns. :) Specifically: 1. A life span for champions/sovereigns of about 200 turns (shorter than current) - randomed at 150+5*Con? 2. Maturity at age 40 turns. Sovereign starts age 40 turns. Champions are found with a random age of 40-100. Older Champions are cheaper to recruit. Age is a stat that can be listed only their main stat page. 3. Old a
My Elemental used to be quite stable (beside some white screens of death), but now is quite unstable - every game now crashes after I try to build a building or just after a few turns. NVidia Update fixed this - but the issue is how it moved from stable to unstable
Thanks Istari, I'm never sure to address Brad as Brad or Frogboy - does he actually have a preference? :)
1. Wisdom seems to be an unnecessarily hidden stat. While you can find everything else out about an NPC, including essence, you can not know wisdom, which is important when considering imbuing them. But even when you do so, wisdom can not be increased when they level! Surely it makes sense to place it on the same playing field as all the other stats? 2. When you click on an unaligned NPC, you see 12 stats (ie, Str, movement, etc), when you recruit them it becomes 8.
I've just reposted on this under Ideas as well - my recent post was just meant to be a reply! :) In my game designs, and I've been doing so for 20 years, I've always focused very strongly on balance and I think this is such a serious issue it should not be a mod but a game update. https://forums.elementalgame.com/396755 Feel free to support me on that thread too. ^_^
While it is nice to see an attempt to rebalance via changes to tracker and organized, the built-in sovereigns do not seem to have changed (I could be wrong) and still remain unbalanced to each other (in some ways even more so). E.g. Verga still has a ‘talent’ for his History, not a profession. FROGBOY - I've previously proposed a balance at https://forums.elementalgame.com/393334/#2774920
Only one NZ? Why yes, there is only one. :)
(Kul-al-Kulan should have Equipment +2, +2 ... dammit)
(I've looked for another post on this but not found one - sorry if it's a repeat!) At the moment quite a few people note the sovereigns are a bit unbalanced - in point count alone, considering equipment, etc. There are also duplications of background, and a certain all have ‘all magic’ repetition that makes them all similar (also already noted). What I propose is an update to the sovereigns - although I'm guessing they are how they due to the bo
I agree with RooksBalley. A dowry should come with a daughter if I have a son to marry. And I should give one if I have a daughter to marry. It could be a Diplomacy research option. This should be implemented in future updates.
Why (only) with daughters? In the middle ages it swapped from one sex to the other after huge numbers of men died (war, etc)!
Quick question, I am eager to play the game. I pre-ordered the game, so I should be able to DL the game on Monday @ 0:00 (if all goes well). But what time zone is Stardock using? I live in the eastern time zone (-5). I know, I know, I'm obsessed with playing the game. I only found out about the existence of this game less than a month ago. Otherwise I would of helped with the beta versions. Sorry Frogboy!&n
"Brilliance" has a duration of indefinite - which means without definition, so it could be 1 turn or 100 turns. Is it meant to be Infinite, or a random duration spell?
But we all just love giant (green) bears?
Yep, but with Int 1 he just aint that bright
Muggles also seems to be able to talk, going by his "I" quote. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
The early release "reward" is a great move on many levels! However, Frogboy, is there any chance of an even earlier lone release of the Hiergamenon - even if it lacks some visual and flavour content? Presumably it's something already somewhat stand-alone if it's going to be printed into book form. It would give us eager people something to read up on and learn pre-release, give us time to discuss and debate strategy on here leading up to it, etc. I've alway
Oh, then all those could have new quests - or just call them "decisions", if you think about the random choices in GC2 that occur some time after you settle planets, etc. Or for the person who said buy cats for 10g, what about a possible cat plague... but then you can buy some dogs for 20g, etc..... [e digicons]:meow:[/e] Thus ALL decisions have consequences... there is never a "good" or "bad" option per se.
