"In your Steam folder, you can check the Legendaryheroes.exe file, and it should have a change date of 4/3/2014." Wait, what? Shouldn't that be 4-22-2014 if you've been updated to 1.6?

" Added the ability to have conditional stats that aren’t comparative Added the ability to have these conditional modifiers based on either the attacker’s or the target’s unit stats." Interesting. Wonder if I can use this to target a unit's movement stat. Edit: Still doesn't seem live; version still showing 1.5, newly created game save also says 1.5
You could try out Atlantica Online, it's free to play, excepting that there is a huge pay to win component as you approach level 100 and beyond. Loved the game, but they [Nexon] has the most offensive cash grab that I've experienced in an MMO via their Item Mall.
The Alpha footage is looking really sharp

Voiceover in horrible faux Scottish accents The Sean Connery impersonating narrator/adviser is a staple of the Majesty games. It's supposed to be funny, and is in fact a Sean Connery impersonation. Quoting BernieTime, reply 8 5. Transition from local map to world map is much better in FE:LH Not sure what you mean. There's no combat/

Initial reactions playing through on my first game Good Things 1. Hex Maps 2. Research Spell Progressions is seperate from Tech Progression, Tree progression is more fluid 3. City Building cannot extend beyond the target city's influence/control area 4. Ranged Attacks on Strategic Map 5. Music is well done and doesn't seem repetitive 6. Enemies attacking Cities reduce production and population, not an insta-raze like in FE/LH 7. Each unit
There is some 3rd party support for XP, but there are some limitations. http://redmondmag.com/articles/2013/08/21/arkoon-windows-xp-security.aspx Arkoon Network Security is planning to roll out its ExtendedXP product this fall for those organizations that just can't get off Windows XP. "If there is a new vulnerability, the managed services team will report that back to them and potentially create a new template," Foley said. "All the customer has to do is
If that's using the XP Mode app created for Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate, there were some issues I'd encountered due to the limited video support for applications within the app. Seems like a real hassle with little reward IMHO.
"Get linux. Any linux." Bwah, ha ha! Hah ha ha! Too funny
Saw Felicia Day give Banished a shout out, so it's definitely out there getting attention.
Eli the Computer Guy ranting on for 2 hours about why Windows 8.1 is garbage, even if Microsoft offered it for free. Note that there is a rumor of Microsoft developing a Win 8.1 Free version that is more heavily tied to Microsoft Apps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPbEYP65n5A&feature=share Eli is a pretty savvy guy, so his ranting is articulate and relevant to IT pros.
Interesting posts so far. I was planning to buy AOW 3 asap, as I am ready for something new after 800+ hours of FE/LH. Now I will have to reconsider...
There's a couple of indie titles in the works that you might want to keep in mind that were funded via Kickstarter and greenlit on Steam. I think it also depends on how much data you're looking to keep backed up. If you're talking limited data, like 20-30gb, I would probably look into an online service as long as the person has a high speed connection. My box.com account came with 50GB which is nice for targeted data.
Ongoing list of Likes/Dislikes of AOW3. Will update as I get more familiar with the game LIKES: Hex Maps Adjacency Matters, which is probably only doable because of Hex Maps Terrain Affects Combat / Line of Sight DISLIKES: Horrible camera controls. Rotating a map is an ugly experience Terrain Tiles can make units hard to find UI is a bit clunky/Disjointed Lookouts/Outposts; There really doesn't need to be two
I recall having read an article recently that Microsoft is reducing the cost of OEM licenses to Tablet developers so that they can bring down the retail cost at market. Can't recall the source as it came aggregated on Zite.
Fish and Chips. Sounds simple, but rarely found fresh and properly executed.
Quarterly releases on DLC, assuming that the DLC has been put through the wringer before release. I would like to see Terrain matter more in the Tactical map. Line of Sight having importance would be nice (thinking Final Fantasy Tactics). Having a river run through the middle of a map passable by a bridge might be doable without c++ intervention.
Hopefully this includes an easier way for modders to include custom Paths. Sure, we can add them now but they way they're implemented is really wonky.
At least it was something interesting to read. Other necro threads often are not
The only Outstanding RTS game I've ever played was Populous. I've tried countless others like Warhammer 40k, while entertaining, really don't hold up as well (for me) as turn-based or TB/RTS hybrid.
I was working on a Windows 8 laptop today for a client. Having the touchscreen on the laptop was nice, but I was trying to address a WiFi issue she was having. Normally I would go into the saved/preferred network list and alter connection info. For whatever reason, Microsoft removed the preferred list GUI from Windows 8. Wtf? Apparently there is still network info being saved, but you have to alter it using netshell commands. Again, Wtf? Hoping t
Another reason the Desktop won't disappear has nothing to do with specs. A desktop system requires a LOT of extra physical energy to remove in terms of Theft.
I think the first game I'd played on a computer was probably Oregon Trail on a TRS-80 (school) First game I purchased was Dungeon Escape for the TRS-80 after I bought a TRS-80 Model I w/ Cassette tape PC Game? Probably Empire. The PC was a shitty game machine for a long, long time. There's a reason why Atari/Commodore/Apple had a good chunk of the home PC market up into the late 80's
I don't think you have a problem embracing "Elemental: x " as a game franchise. X-Com has had numerous iterations and knockoffs, many of which were real turkeys. Consumers are more likely to try a brand that they recognize, even if there were some problems with earlier releases. As long as the quality of the franchise keeps improving, good reviews and word of mouth should keep the player base growing. Elemental also has an advantage in that there really isn't
