I do this same build except I end with nova, the reason simply being that I find shattering more useful in a high level game and enjoy the stun/speed debuff on top of the additional dmg. But yes, playing this way really brings out TBs potential and lets him unleash a huge amount of unmitigated spell fury. And thats in addition to being nearly untouchable.

I think Oak is kinda faceroll if you know how to build him. He gets so many minions so easily, and +M stats have such a large effect on his damage because of that. I just played a game where I killed an early oak 5 times, and he came back to rofl-stomp the match. Oak is the only hero i know that can do that so naturally. Spirits get kills, is the general message. Especially after pent and buffs. He and erebus have quickly become 2 of my favorite heros.

At first +speed sounded great to me on such a slow hero, but as I've played around with it i've found that it really doesn't make that much of a difference on a hammer build. I'm either in range of being able to boulder/hammer or i'm not. Theres not really a grey area, and if they see me coming they are gonna stop my combo anyway. I'd much rather stack up some Hp to tank around and let my team help me get kills, or wreck anyone that gets too close while I pressure a lan

A friend of mine plays a combat rook and does great. The hammer is absolutely devastating mid game. We haven't played any incredibly competative matches yet so maybe i'm speaking from ignorance, but it seems as though rook just needs some decent back up. Often times if i'm playing torch or erebus I'll learn charm/nova first. Typically he'll boulder, i'll stun, he'll hammer, and we'll have a dead hero.
