I see a lot of posts talking about the weapons/epuiment that are being used on champions and it kind of confuses me I have played about 6-8 games so far and truthfully I have never seen the need to equip any heroes with equipment. In fact i don't usually have any need for them at all except for the bonuses they supply. Right now, the only time i recruit heros is early in the game for their gildar/tech/arch know production. or 10% boost and then i just park them in a city. I have
Quoting ozzlok, reply 3 are you sure it wasn't in a different game where you were playing kingdom then empire? Because Empire starts with imbue champion but has to learn teleport. Kingdom is the other way around..They start with teleprot but have to learn imbue champion false. kingdom starts with imbue AND teleport. kingdom ftw
This was true until
I believe the kingdom teleport spell is currently not working as intended. Reason being, there is another teleport spell, called 'teleport friends', which is a level 5 or so spell and casting it is three times as expensive, yet does exact same thing as the teleport spell kingdom starts with. Thus i think the first teleport was meant to only teleport the caster of the spell, and not the whole army that is with him.
Tha
Yup, you can't learn spells until you build your first improvement that produces arcane knowledge or you recruit a champion that produces arcane knowledge
44 here....and someone earlier mentioned nursing homes... I can't wait!!! 3 hots and a cot...and nothing to do but play TBS games on my PC allllll day!!!! [e digicons][/e]

In regards to #2... You active enchantments are listed in one of your character tabs (near action tab) when your soverign is selected. But I too have wondered how you get more or if it is possible. Also, one of the problems is it doesn;t list how many slots you have. It only show the active enchantments so i never know if i can cast another or not. If this stat is listed somewhere i have never seen it. So i have a similar question. How do you know how many slots you have and is there
This type of thing bugs me too. It's just silly. Caster armor can look sexy because caster armor isn't really armor. It's clothes. But plate? If you're a front line melee unit who is going to get pounded, you probably want armor that actually functions like armor. You can make armor that both looks good AND looks like something that could plausably work. So no chainmail bikinis. Please.
I agree, chainmail bikinis wou
I find this to be one of the weaknesses and imbalances in the game. The leveling up of your sov and his HP. The only ay to add HP to your soverign is to spend points on constitution when he levels. Now being a magic user naturally those point need to go towards INT and Essence to make the spells even worth while in the beginning. So, at least in most of my games, my sov is trying to increase his spell power so he can be useful in battle but it leaves him exposed as bascially a one shot kill w
I find this annoying as well. losing a turn just to see info that should be available to you can hurt in the TBS world
LOL!!!! i find myself curiously interested in this thread and yet at the same time find it rediculous that a tpoic like this has 67 posts...whoops 68 now [e digicons][/e]
I think that is the "fairest" review to date and i have a lot of the same feelings as he does. Even with its problems i find myself playing for 4hrs when i meant o sit down for 30-45mins. And last night when i was lying in bed i found myself trying to fall asleep but my mind was racing thinking of tthings i could do differently when i played again. No the crashing issue is unacceptable in my opinion (im lucky i guess because it only happens to me once or twice in about 4hrs of gamepla
It is obvious the lower level teleport weren't meant to teleport the sov + stack. And only the later is.
If that is so then that plan by stardock is almost rediculous. Who has their soverign running around the map early on without support troops? And if you run into serious trouble you would be expected to teleport your sov back and leave those troops stranded or left to die. That could be a huge waste of gildar and material
"That Rabbit is Dynamite!!!"
Anyone know the difference between the "teleport" spell you get in the beginning of the game and the one you get much later after studying spell lvl 7 or 8? (Teleport friends, or something like that) The descrition is amost identical. Soverign and army to friendly territory.
very true. the soverign can teleport back to friendly territory. I have had a few games however that my soverign has gotten boxed in to small area early on that was my starting territory. There was a whole world out there to explore but couldn't because teleport only brings you to friendly territory. again, leaving the only options as war, or pay gildar and agree to 99 turns of peace
I have mentioned this in other posts but this is one of the reasons they need and open boarders treaaty option like in the CIV series. In the case above the only option is to go to war or spend gildar on a non-aggro pact that will allow you passage. I think this option is vital to furthering the enjoyment of a game that has a large part of it centered around exploring your world.
random opponents option. Select the # of opponents but let the game randomly choose. I hate knowing who i'm gonna run into. Autoresolve without magic - as stated above!!! Open boarders treaty option. So you don;t have to spend gildar on non-aggro pact just to explore. Or have to commit to 99 turn of peace just to explore.
"worth" 50 bucks, well that is very subjective. I would say if you only have 50 bucks to spend on a game in the next month or so then no, wait for CIV5 (in the TBS realm). If the money is not as much of an issue I would say yes, for the most part it is worth it. First let me say that I have not had the crashing issues so take that into consideration with what i am saying. Ive only had 2 crashes and because of the autosave every 5 turns i just reloaded and lost a cpl of turns.
I researched master quest but where in the hell do you start the master quest? It didn't point me in any direction like the beginning of quests usually do. Do you just have to look around for the quest starting location? is there a name for the location? THX!!!

I play a lot of TBS games. I also don;t go crazy into the formulas and figuring out the absolute quickest way to do this or exploit that feature/unit. So I would say I'm an average player at best. I too played on easy and had the same problems to start but by about my 4th or 5th game i got the hang of what i needed to do to survive the opening stretch. (that being said, I haven't run into my opponents as early as you are saying. So I guess it is possible that your experience is bad lu
If you are a fan of TBS then i would suggest getting it. Especially since 1.07 had apparently fixed a lot or most of the performance issues. There are so few TBS games so being able to play a new one I have found to be extremely enjoyable. Even with the balance and feature issues that need to be addressed. Even with those I am having an awesome time playing. Took today off from work just to play all day. [e digicons][/e]
lol...wishful thinking I guess [e digicons][/e] . But thanks!!! Will update asap.
When you are setting up a new game there should be an option to pick the number of opponents but then an option for the game to pick those opponenets randomly. In CIV4, one of the most exciting things about exploing was not knowing who you would run inot and then being surprised, happy, and or dismayed about who you did run into. Loved running into Ghandi right next door but damn I hated it when it was Montezuma right next to me. Right now, picking your opponents takes a lot of the fu
