Stardock does incorporate DRM though. Regardless of what you as a consumer want to define DRM to mean the use of a software key is DRM, period. The issue is that this website and a lot of others throw around loaded words like DRM which are implying it's anti consumer, restrictive, or will ruin the experience of a legitmate consumer over something that doesn't have DRM *which if you could actually find any software like that today it will be a miracle* which is does not. <p

ANYTHING that restricts access to content so only authorized users can access it is DRM and that is EXACTLY what software CD keys do. Demigod uses these software keys

Except the vast majority never have issues with DRM or even know what DRM is used in their games. The vocal minority of pretend legitmate consumers flood forums with problems involving DRM because they are using a pirated version. I've yet to have a single issue with DRM in any game and I've been gaming on the PC for a long time using just about every digital distribution/drm method available. People were pirating the stuff before big bad DRM somehow just appeared on the scene ruining all tho

NPD numbers are obsolete on the PC. Digital distribution sales already trump retail so theorectically anyone one of those games or games not even listed could be selling more than #1 on the list. I'd rather see some publisher released total sales figures although they won't happen it's the only way you can really gauge PC game sales any longer.

Brad has a valid point when mentioning the anti drm crowd. DRM isn't anything new especially in PC gaming. It's just moved from the honor system/local key authorization to other methods which have a very sound valid reason to exist if you bother to look at global software piracy rates. DRM for the most part has been a huge benifit for gamers rather than something negative like quite a few make it out to be. I had this occur to me tonight. I kept clicking to attack, my demigod just sat there while the other demigod walked off. Needless to say I raged at my monitor. It's like sometimes the game just stops functioning and refuses to do the action you tell it to.

+1 for ranked matches all the time. What's the deal behind this "panethon" gametype in the first place? Does the winning side win something? Taking down the auto match system for a multiplayer game in 2009 seems a bit absurd even if some features aren't working correctly like favor.
