I thought it was caused by the Fallen? I thought they had a research that makes new ones pop up?

I think if nothing else guardian units shouldn't cost upkeep...
Also speed up tactical battle animations.
Really, I think all models should have the animation. It would feel MUCH more epic. I think there should be three options (but this is pure graphical, not mechanical so not really relevant to this post): 1- No graphical animations (for the people who have seen it a thousand times already or with just slow computers) 2- Partial graphical animations (for people with slower comp

A common complaint and a very large current balance issue is how the Tactical battles play out. Problem: Champions do not scale well compared to rather mundane squads. Getting them "up to par" requires spending a LOT of gold at the shop, and even then they'll typically die in one hit. Problem: Unit stacks are terrifying. You can get a unit with tons of health, tons of damage, tons of defense for... about 100 gilder, a few dozen materials and maybe half a dozen m
Game setup: - Custom Sov - Paridian - Rig: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.24 GHz ATI Radeon HD 3400 Mobile (on 10.1 Catalyst) 4 GB Ram Windows 7 x64 --- 1- Enemy Pioneers are not always killed when attacked using auto-resolve. You must enter combat manually. 2- Teleporting on top of a friendly unit that is being targeted by an enemy stack that is adjacent to it INSTANTLY initiates combat. Gilder Ability bonus is the extra gilder you get for having the "Thief" occupation. Poorly named. But you get both.
1.06 is looking good... A large change from Sunday, that much is true...
yah but they get DRAGONS. Evil Kingdoms... Overall, I think that the Kingdom tech tree just makes more "Sense" and it flows a lot better and just feels more well designed and natural. Fallen tech trees are "leaps and bounds" with more critical technologies being unlikey or harder to get, but having overall better rewards. It still just seems less well put together. I prefer, for the most part, the kingdom tech tree. And therefore Kingdom cities.
I'd like to concur that saving the game seems to be the memleak. It's funny, actually. 1) I am worried that the game will crash (because of reports on the forums, and ATI business from before) 2) Therefore, I enable autosave every turn 3) Game becomes unplayable after about half an hour or so. I get frustrated and stop playing. 1.05 does not fix the issue. 4) Read about it on the forums. Turn autosave to every 5 turns. Get engrossed in a new game (for the first
a fine deduction!
umm... you can do it too. Caravans have the ability to enter enemy territory without the corresponding treaty.
Was the gamers' bill of rights changed? ppl are quoting it as "2. Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state." but right now it says "2. gamers shall have the right that games they purchase shall function as designed without technical defects that would materially affect the player experience. this determination shall be made by the player."
Being Tarth (with the Great Warrior upgrade) doesn't actually do anything :P It's bugged. The most simplest thing they could do is make you unable to move after you've initiated an attack on your turn (but you can continue to attack). This makes move-move-attack viable, but not attack-move-move. Attack-move-move requires intelligence to counter since you can't just keep running at them over and over
I believe that the AI get "Janusk's" as well. Basically everyone starts with one free champion to get the game rolling. It's a problem that they didn't recruit the free champion though...
Yah but if you get crap 95% of the time, then you're "wasting" an improvement 95% of the time. I mean, maybe the Level 1->2 guardian unit isn't so badass, but I would expect something rather awesome for 2->3 and espiecially 3->4. Remember you're frontloading your benefits. Instead of having an increased production for something for the rest of the game, you're frontloading that into a strong earlier military presence. It shouldn't be SO strong if you get one and no one else d

It also gets upgraded to "Fortify" later on with research into the Warfare trees.
I'm rather amazed a Stardockian would admit that, takes guts, that does.
Frogboy: - I play DoW which uses the Havok engine and I've never had out-of-memory issues before (this is campaign mode in DoW, mind you, I only play MP on my desktop). I also leave DoW minimized for literally HOURS and can come back and play just fine again. No mem leaks. - For those with proprietary notebooks with discrete graphics cards, many vendors "lock" the video card drivers that you are allowed to use. This was fine, there was a few utilities out there that enabled yo
Note that all units have the same upkeep (Peasants are the same as Royal Knights). This is one big minus to "quantity versus quality" (beyond that they have identical building times and tactical map punishes quantity). Heroes/Champions and Summons do not have an upkeep cost. One of the reasons why the Book of Summoning was super-OP (lots of other reasons that just that, mind you).
the campaign was vastly improved in 1.05. I'd recommend updating and starting from scratch. Please note that the campaign is mostly a tutorial to the game elements and less the "bulk" of the game (which is Sandbox, hence why it is on top: "New Game").
requests: holding shift doesn't screw up the mouse. comments: The building queue camera only gets "stuck" if you try to focus on something as it zooms out. just be patient for now. Voice Acting/Effects is one of the first thing that you lose when you play indie games. They don't have the budget for it. Sorry, but we aren't going to have a large variety of audio clips for a long time. Large population does nothing either than (eventually) get you t
It gets worse. If you turn off something that gives you 2 points (Insane), you can use it to get a point, then undo it, etc.... Infinite Sov points. Not really that big of a deal though, since its singleplayer. The custom factions are already wayyyy more powerful than the built-in ones... :/
In case you didn't catch Frogboy, it got moved from the little tiny button on the portrait to the sword-and-shield icon on HP. You can also get to it by clicking on the symbol, then going to "Equip Unit"
