like placing homing mines just far enough inside meteor storm and far enough out to hit assault cruisers....
crashmatusow
(i believe) the original intention of high HP for flak was to allow them to survive the swarms of SC they are supposed to counter. particularly bombers, which they do not hard counter.
1. have you ever taken on an upgraded advent starbase? can guarantee that thing will sting like none other. 2. TEC can go cheap on the SB and only do the safety override protocol. boom assault cruisers, and then you have to deal with teh static defenses. not to mention tec can crank out a fleet like none other--what started out as a grav well full of tactical structures can turn into a fleet staging ground in just a few minutes. if you're steamrolling TEC and advent but
...Right now I dont see the point of those mines, worse yet, you have to research them if you want to use them, maybe if they did not require research (available when Ruiser is researched), they might be more useful.
this is the single dumbest argument i ever hear about abillites. if you've got the money to throw around deploying mass mines, you probably have enough to research gravity mines, and its only a
no. like combat deployment research and improved degradation research. research tree stuff.
question: were advent also intended to get a third SB upgrade research? all 3 races have the extra bank/damage research and surivability research, but TEC also get increased destabilization and vasari get faster building, were advent supposed to get something?
The ai has to learn that a Marza misslebarrage must be stoped at all cost. otherwise u can win everybattle with just 2 or 3 marzas. By the way, i think other races need such a superability too... f.e. give the advent the old malice/cleaning brilliance commbo back...
just...no. unlike the dreaded MB, advent can make Cleansing brilliance uninteruptable (except armistice).
this thread seems to have been mass disoriented
because of the disabling abillities. also, when the ships try to jump while grav bombed, they only make one attempt and when they can't jump they drop the order.
1. As far as advent repair stations go; they are level 2 tech, not level 1. Kep that in mind. 2. Yes, the AM recharger cannot target structures, but, guess what? it can target frigates. and a certain frigate can share its AM out...
Love advent. i do the best with them. Vasari are alright, but they're playstyle doesn't jive with me. i think TEC have sucky economy when they supposedly have hte best but its just my playstyle. Each race represents a distinct playstyle. playing as a TEC marketing mogul just doesn't cut it for the Unity.
Advent have detonate AM(radiance), reverie(revelation), and repulsion[can push marza away from your fleet](guardian) TEC have Ion Bolt(Akkan), Armistice(Akkan), and Magnetize(Dunov) Vasari have phase out (marauder)

rate of change in culture & allegiance depends on the strength of competing cultures in a gravity well. A freshly built broadcast tower has no culture/allegiance influence.
it does....like +25 of your own culture rate at the targeted planet per shot. thats why that planet has accumulated a 200+ rate Its very easy to culturally burn out a system(your culture lingers for a long time in the whole system)
Sort of speaks for itself...if you can't see it, thats +239 rate of MY culture on an enemy home planet from massive deliverance spam. The onnly thing i dont get is, is why maximum allegiance rate is +- .07%.
nothing like killing capships on the first SC pass
SC are very well balanced. no one every builds the damn counter.
umm...last i checked the starfish doesn't have to face to shoot. it just does that as a matter of the physics engine.
fighters are FAR better vs. frigates than bombers.
radiance can really do some nasty things with Detonate AM. they get one ability off adn tahts it. Stops even a marza. unfortuneately, even at level 3 it still has a 5 second gap between cooldown and duration. but cleansing brilliance is evil.
The thread title clearly states "Entrenchment" crash bug. No one ever said there was a problem in vanilla Sins. -dolynick
then maybe consider that i was suggesting removing the empty squad defs?

some of the maps actually do have some variation in the z-placement between stars and planets. like aeorlian sector or whatever its called. Don't think they vary by more than 30 degrees though.
