Hi all. Are translations planned (available?) or should they come as a mod? Some of my friends a very interested in russian version, for example.
lol, looks like forum formats smiles inside xml
Just learn how to configure DosBox. Those games are abandonware mostly, it's not fair to charge for them
Hey all. I see familiar names in the story of this world and in what I saw in GalCiv2 research messages. But the names are too awkward to memorize and follow the story. Is there a wiki or an article with complete background and timeline of events? Or is there no common lore?
Having it is an alternative to finishing game, isn't it?
I like the idea of an item in inventory that would summon a beast, and then the beast would have spell "collapse" to hide back into item. It would be the very same beast, with experience, abilities and stats (like a hero!) . Only one beast would be allowed to be out of its item at a time. And the sovereign would have spell "catch", so that when you fight a wild beast if you finish it in three turns after you cast "catch" you'd recieve item containing the wounded
Bump for this question
tl;dr Because it's a post-cataclysm world, where fertile land is rare and resources are scarce. Magic is powerful and rare, and only true heroes can bring life back to these lands. This is the way - hero-centrism and resource-centrism with heavy magic influence - RPG is brought into TBS, and this is what Elemental is about.
It's a too-uber spell, btw
You miss the point. You're judging it based solely on the TBS aspect, which the reviewer states cannot stand on it's own without the RPG elements. And, yes there are many people who buy games purely on potential. You can count me as one of them.
RPG elements in release are raw, broken and inconsistent just like TBS elements.
Can we make caravans produce only gold? I think caravans must become what freighters were in MoM2 - i.e. food/materials transporters. I.e. if in one city food is +2, and in another it's -1, caravan takes 1 extra food and passes to the city in need (if the two are connected via trade paths). That how I thought they worked actually.
Is there expected to be some kind of AI desicions map in XML or python? Or is it all (e.g. 20+ for max price) hardcoded?
You can get "GalCiv2: Endless Universe" for like 10$ on Amazon. It's the same GalCiv2 with both expansions. Definetely worth buying, my second favorite space 4x (after Master Of Orion 2)
Maybe for your next beat release, build in "TOB" reply option for the star-dock employees, where they just hit one button and it automatically posts "Suggestion has been take on board"
+1 to flag "read and taken into consideration" button, also "accepted" or "rejected" would be fine. Or something like public ticket tracking system, since even 1.08 is pretty much beta.
Would make sense!
Hehe, Kazakhstan 0.01% Must be Borat himself
Quest should have a link to hut/ruin it was given at And the hut on the map should have a note with quest name on it
Yes, that ruins didn't respond for me too. Ruins seem to not work at all - they don't disappear, but after first visit they do nothing no matter what they contained.
Brad has already said that the option for fast movement (in the Options) should also apply to the tactical battles, so I'm sure that will be in soon.
Fast movement as it is now is extremely ugly - it's teleporting to new position. A faster or less detailed animation between full animation and teleporting should be present. And we need a separate setting for tactical battles, I like how units move on strategic map (except their spe
1) On new level pop-up, you should be able to see the city, its BUILDINGS and RESOURCES (Obvioisly, to select spec.) 2) On new building window in lower-left window, you should be able to see BUILDINGS and RESOURCES (To see what is present)
I want to help. I can do python. There's a fansite out there in the net with complete description of MoM mechanics, hacks and mods.
I disagree with this as a matter of principle, this game is time consuming and not at all 'casual', I want to invest my time on something that won't be garbage in the next patch or two. I think it's very important the save files are retained throughout patching if at all possible. At the very least if it must be done, please warn us so we can finish our current games.
I don't understand how it's not common gaming knowledge that patches generally invalidate old game saves.
Stardock is such nice a company (no kidding here) that they might try to preserve compatibility. Players do feel it and feel obliged to say "It's OK, Stardock, don't mind this detail, focus on the gameplay"
