Camp#1 "Sophisticaticated" gets my vote...i like to have full control. However, some sort of help in all that micro-management would be welcome. So A.I sending you suggestions (Town A will run out of iron for swords soon, closest mine is B and there is planty on iron in Town C) and warnings (there is great amount of iron in TownA,but that town does not produce anything that need iron) may be better then letting him handle everything.
You haven't read "A Song of Ice and Fire" books, right? They are fantasy, they are terribly successful and they have only humans (well, there's some minor magic and strange things here and there, but the leaders and main characters are all human).
Dont know about <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl13__LinkUser" class="hand" title="Click user name to view
If you're just starting to read Shannara, I would definitely NOT recommend starting with The Sword of Shannara as it is basically a LotR rip-off. Here's my suggested reading order for Shannara (I'm leaving out some books that don't do much for the series): Running With The Demon Genesis of Shannara trilogy First King of Shannara Elfstones of Shannara Wishsong of Shannara The Heritage of Shannara series .
Some military training facility will be in town,no doubt, real question is how will they work ? If i understood correctly, some amount of training will be required for every unit. You have a peasant, give him spear and train him for a day and you have simple spearman, but what will hapen if you let him be trained for 3 days ? Will that affect its stats like attack, defense or what ? Perhaps increase its experience if every unit will have its own experience. W
There is island of Tarth in George Martins A Song of Ice and Fire,so my first association for Kingdom of Tarth was big island or some sort of archipelag. They would be advanced sailors and good ship builders in that case...
Just want to express my full support for art direction, since i agree most strategy games look too similar nowadays.Picture above is some sort of test render,i guess, but still i dont understand why you have more then one light casting shadows in scene, looks confusing,to me at last.
Some sort of forced march would be good idea, dont like when am missing just one or two tiles to attack city with full force,so basicly units continue marching and become tired and that lower their stats in % based on amount of additional tiles they moved over their normal movement but can participate in battle.
What an odd over-reaction ! I do not promote only 4 "races" : Men, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs.
nope you said "You cannot have a fantasy game without Elves" and i asked why. Almost all fantasy strategy games out there have the "classic" races (Heroes of M&M,Kings Bounty,Age of Wonders,Disciples...) and only Dominion stayed away from that Tolkinesque aproach,so am a bit bored always having same races again and again, so <stro
What about the Elves ?! You cannot have a fantasy game without Elves !
Why does every fantasy game need Elves,Dwarves and Orcs ? I do like Tolkiens work very much but its been overused in todays games... Cant company that create games also create something beyond those races or hire somebody who can ? Did creativity died in 21 century ? So for now,am perfectly happy with Men and Fal
