I promise I will try and pop on tonight for a mittle multiplayer so I can get my ass kicked a bit.

It will be released when it's released. Shit happens. Complaining about it won't get them to release it any faster - and quite frankly if there are problems and they release it as a beta it will be even more work because lots of people will report the same problems many different ways and someone still has to sit down and go over each report. I don't want to wait either, but you have to accept the fact that they are still learning too; IC hasn't been around for nearly as long

I will concecde that the smaller the map the less useful the siege frigs are - that's something I neglected to consider - your point of view is valid for small and rush maps - the siege frigs are a big burden for a quicker game.

I don't mess with colony frigs unless I have a reason to actualyl go out and cap something but the fact that I usualyl have 16 cap ships mid to late game anyway hardly makes colony frigs useful - as for siege ships you're right but there are times they are useful. I wouldn't miss them if they wre gone thats for sure, but all im saying is if you fail to defend your rear panets adiquitly they can suck. As for fleets - as Vasari its safer to have 3-4 smaller than 1 big one - the
Oh bummer :( You've have to just pool them up and move em at once :(
Why don't you uninstall, reinstall, use impulse to archive, and then don't patch from the game CD?
Yes siege frigates CAN do this but they are way too vulnerable to strikecraft from hangers etc. also my point it that they are not worth the fleet supply.
I didn't say it was a guarantee, but a lot of times you can get lucky and at least distract them long enough to make a mistake that costs them the fleet or force them to retreat. At the expense of a few ships I'll take that risk, especially if its a choke point.
I don't press it because I don't feel I'm ready to get my ass kicked tet - let me carebear it for a few more weeks first :P
when holding down the shift-button while giving movement-orders, you are able to determine a specific route. but if this works also when setting a rally point?! i dont know, but i will give it a try.
Ya I don't know if that works with rally points - if it doesn't that would be a nice feature HINT HINT
Certain units in Sins are completely useless, but i haven't come across many suggestions. Seige Frigates: Now these units are totally useless. i've heard of many people complaining about this. I suggest that they should cost far less fleet supply (7 fleet supply?) since they have such limited role on the battlefield. 14 fleet supply is simply way too much. I've never heard of anyone who makes colony frigates as Advent and Vasari and i've never
I've noticed that the AI fights amongst themselves more now which if you aren't being overly agressive might explain why they don't feel you atre a major threat.
Yeah, if Stardock goes bankrupt and EA buys the IP, good luck seeing that patch then... Or in a couple of years, you might have lots and lots of games to unprotect, who is going to spend all that time removing those checks and recompiling whole games? Not to mention getting several gigabytes of stand alone patches out there. edit: Exhanged BK for bankrupt.
Honestly I suspect th
The Vasari Cap Ship with the maruader is a boon in the late game phases. As your empire gorws, basicalyl it allows you to keep a reserve fleet or 2 in hiding at the core worlds and they will always be a single jump from the main battle. If you get attacked on a different front, that same phase gate can be used to make a quick jump back to the new front. In the current game (SP 102 planets 10 players) im playing I have wars on 4 fronts and while I've had to put a stop to expanding I do
This is a great idea - I too am having a war on 3 fronts between 3 different factions out of the other 9 and 1 blasted scout is what the planetary defenses are for - I keep having to pop up from micromanaging the fleet to take a look and then pop back. It's only a few seconds, but whe you're trying to tell your bombers to go around the flak to take out the command cruisers and the LRMs to take out th erepair ships and have the capital ships keep the cruisers busy even a few seconds matter in
They are obsoleted by people spamming missile frigates, but that in turns get obsoleted by carrier cruisers. As fleet composition becomes more balanced and support cruisers start showing up, light frigates come back into their own because they are cheap, do good damage and severely impair the function of support cruisers. i mean, if the opponent brings a lot of Overseers or Subjagators to a fight, that can really change the whole dynam
It may be easier than rsync - another post from a Stardock was talking about the problems but the patch itself is rather clever in th efact that they use an XML file comparison to check the current version of the files for the game - those that are out of date get patched and those that are current remain. I would think that since Ironclad knows exactly what files you have in the game folder, and then can do a quick comparison to the current files for 1.1, BAM 3.5mb for the beta to 1.
