oh, and where can a minister "support" his candidate of choice? Afterall, he is minister in his local community 24-7......no matter what he says and where he says it, the ppl will hear from him as "their preacher"
MythicalMino
so....tax exempt law..... If that was taken away, and churches paid taxes....would it then be ok? or would it still be considered wrong? And what about the whole abortion angle? If a minister is against abortion, but abortion is such a hot political topic, is he not free to speak against it? Afterall, it may very well be within his religion that it is wrong..... (NOTE: Myrrander, wanted to tell you before...i enjoy your posti
What is the difference between a preacher, standing in the church that he has spent years and years building, blood sweat and tears, and giving the ppl, his ppl that attend his church, his personal political opinion on who should be in the President's office..... compared to.... Artists like, say, Bruce Springsteen or John Mellencamp (now I really like Mellencamp's music, btw), standing up at a concert, and giving their fans their per
could be dead...when was the last time we heard anything specifically from him? And what about all that talk about him maybe having a kidney problem or whatever....anyone remember that? anything really come out about that?
the difference between abortion and capital punishement is that the unborn being aborted haven't done anything yet to deserve death.....the folks that die due to capital punishment on the other hand, well, they have.....or at least it was determined in a court of their peers that they were guilty....
the thing is....John Kerry is a catholic....he has stated so in so many answers to so many questions....As a catholic, he has submitted himself to the authority of the head of the Catholic Church. Do I want the pope determining who is president of our country? no....I am not even catholic....but if John Kerry is going to continue to use the phrase, "I am Catholic" in answers to issues such as abortions, stem cell research, what side of the be
it seems as though the problem with Iraq is....the left are looking at the situation in Iraq as the finished product.....What is going on in Iraq is not the end....things will get better there....so long as we don't give up and turn tail and run away.
Myrrander, I couldn't have said it better! However, I will add that what Blair really needs to do is cut the leash and stop being led around by a foreign leader and needs to listen more to his OWN constituency because he was chosen to lead by his party, who in turn was elected by the British people...not by George W. Bush or the
yeah....but....Kerry is a BIG name dropper.....so it is expected
You know....I served in the army.....Chemical Operations Specialist (54B), 1993 - 1996. Spent a year in Korea, 1 1/2 years in Ft. Campbell, KY (63rd CHEM Co, what did we do? http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/63chem.htm). I was Air Assault.... That uniform....I was proud to serve....and oddly, enough....my recruiter was actually completely truthful, all the way down to what would happen as soon as I got off the bus at Ft. MeCle
this is just one of the things that is really pissing me off about Kerry....I read in the news the other day (yesterday, i think) that he is campaigning that the draft will be brought back....but he conveniently leaves out the fact that it is the Democrats that were/are pushing for it. Nearly everyday i read the paper, it seems as though there is another "opinion" article about President Bush "bringing back the draft".....it just gets so old.
read what i posted.....I know kerry did not cheat....i said i was wrong in what i was seeing....dear god....but.... The video looked like he brought notes....until i studied the video very very closely. The thing is though....IF IT WAS PROVEN THAT HE DID CHEAT, WOULD THIS HAVE BEEN A SILLY THREAD????? That is the point i am making....many....MANY on the left seem to think not. The fact that it turned out to actually be a pen has nothing really
wrong....i don't think the "ink pen" is what caused so much problem...but rather....the issue of Kerry's **questionable** character. But, according to the garbage spewed forth from the left in this, nobody should question anyone unless it is the left questioning those who they deem questionable.... if it floats, it is a duck....if it sinks, it is a witch....if it blatantly breaks the rules, and appears to be cheating, it must be a vic
who are you talking to? If it is me....I said i was wrong, after i studied the video nearly all day long....The rules are rules, placed there for a purpose, and the rules stated that neither participant was to bring ANYTHING to the table, other than what was placed there BEFORE the debate begins.... The fact that Kerry broke the rules is not debatable....wether or not he cheated, well, that was the discussion. At first, I thought he d
ok....i have downloaded the higher res quicktime video.....and i have watched it and watched it and watched it times inifinity..... If you watch the video....it does appear that what is flashed is a paper that he took out of his jacket. But....I think i was wrong in my original (and following views of it) assumption. What he pulls out of his jacket is indeed impossible to see....but once he is squared up next to the podium, watch just
The character of a man attempting to become the President of the United States is not deemed an issue? Oh wait....i forgot who the group of ppl is i am asking this question to.... I would really hope that every American would be concerned that the man leading our country has good character....or does character only come onto the scene as an issue when it is President Bush's character?
actually, what i see is a bunch of blind liberals, who simply cannot admit that their hero, John Kerry, cheated.....to win a debate, especially, when chances are, he would have won anyways. If you look at that image, that movie....you have to be blind, deaf, and dumb, to still "see" a "pen". Oh, and this is a major issue....it is "character"...or do the liberals not understand what Character is? They must not, since John Kerry thinks
look at this link.... http://homepage.mac.com/cfj/.Movies/JFKCheat.mov Study it...look at it....there is no way that that is a pen.....there is no way that that could be a pen.....it is much to large to be a pen, a marker, or anything....look at the shape of it....look at what it looks like..... Now....what i want you to do....instead of "seeing" Kerry....in your mind, picture President Bush there instead..... now what do you
the fact that they both had pens and paper is not the issue.....that in and of itself was allowed....the problem comes from this though.... Niether was supposed to bring any tangible item to the podium themselves....everything that was needed (ie, pens, paper, ect) would be placed there by committee members PRIOR to the debate.... When John Kerry walks toward the podium and pulls out something from his jacket pocket (i know....it was
i also posted about this in the Current Events section.... I agree....Kerry is NOT president (at least not yet). And even if he was President, or will be President....President Bush's picture shoudl still not be removed. I wonder if the Kerry Campaign will say something about this? is it petty to think he should? I don't think it is.... But, schools have changed....very much so.
Rush just said that he doesn't think anything "official" should be pursued..... I can agree to a point. I am not saying that Bush lost the debate because of what Kerry did. What i am saying, is that John Kerry's character should be questioned....seriously questioned after this. And again, if President Bush was the one that did this, what would the left be doing? Would they just say, "Oh well, he is a politician, after all....besides, the rules
no...not a pen....just a real big black magic marker.....real big....really really big.....really really really really BIG....
This from Drudge.... http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/news/WABC_100304_middleschoolteacher.html Why should his picture be placed there among Presidents, if he hasn't been president yet?
perhaps it was a very large magic marker
a pen? ok....yeah....sure.....i always carry a monstrosity of a pen with me....sure....
