Starcraft has great UMS maps. I personally remember playing Team Micro Arena and Micro tourney quite a bit :) Noobs loved their dumb RPG and defence maps as well lol

Most people have negative views towards playing a competitive game until they actually play the game how it should be and notice the fun in being in an intense battle with another human player instead of a predictable CPU. I was the same way with my first RTS games like AoE2 and CnC Generals. There is a lot of basic RTS knowledge you gotta pick up on that makes moving from RTS to RTS a much easier task. The way I actually got into playing RTS games "right" is I joined a low level fun clan and

Dodging is fine and all but it's basically a hard counter to the Unclean Beast. A DG that is already pretty weak early game and turns into a beast later but in games against a Rook on a team I just felt useless. Rook doesn't even need to use the boulder that much. He can just scare you into it and force you to keep your space and let him have the map control.

I believe this is already in the Generals Discussion thread that Orlean started but I'd really like to see Minions with special abilities that have cooldowns just like the General/Assassin. As of now all the Minions run in and attack and that's about it, it would be nice to feel like i'm microing multiple units to their fullest instead of attacking moving everyone in and using just my General's abilities. *Just read the "Minions, what Minions" thread after this one sorry for this repl

I perfectly understand that they said alot of those things db0 but I just feel that this would be a more efficient process if the beta didn't start 5 months ago. I also love the amount of effort you guys are putting in to posting with the community. Only companies I really follow now is GPG and Blizzard. Relic and EA lost my faith (Though CoH, the original, was fun). I'll go a bit more depth on the efficient statement, if those whole process had been delayed and waited till we had an

How can you be completely sure if things work when you don't have a complete product ready for you? And I didn't say the changes would be simple stat changes.... I'll repeat my sentence "A great beta would be one where they have the game ready and are WILLING to make changes to gameplay" We can still have our input and the company will make changes that are needed. A company can't rely too much on the consumers because people want so many different things from a game.
Frogboy stated, "If I had to guess, I think Demigod is going to end up coming out in April."
Good =)
You're welcome to that opinion but that is NOT what stardock betas are. The benefit of true betas this early in the process are your suggestions can actually be incorporated. You can actually make changes that effect how the game plays, not just minor tweaks to character stats. This is a true beta, most companies release Gamma version which only need st

Sorry but I must add some constructive criticism to this because I feel GPG (From my experience with Demigod Beta only) should have delayed the beginning of this whole process. Maybe you guys just really needed the money or something but I'd rather see a beta where your plan has followed through and there isn't any "winging" things. You had an "idea" but your idea hasn't really followed through as the game is coming together and both Assassins and Generals need alot of reworking. (Assassins j

As it is now no one is gaining true advantages and games last ages. There need to be obvious advantages and comebacks I'm sure can happen by outplaying your opponent to do things. If it's easy to lose an advantage and gain one then it will be much less cut throat and games will be just like it is now

It's fine if a game isn't your "style" but that's pretty bold calling it boring and terrible. Isn't competition FUN to you? Do you not like well balanced games with high learning curves? Or should we keep moving on the trend of making games tailor to casual players. Which for me just get old after a month or two. All I ask is to attempt having an open mind and show some signs of maturity and respect here for a game that was done so much for the RTS genre. This is the reason why Starcr

Demigod has a flawed design behind it and GPG is doing their best to somehow make it into a game. They won't be able to use "well it's a beta" defence behind it either. If the release date isn't pushed back I don't see this game being polished enough or having a strong idea to ever be consistently played at a top level for a long period of time. You can say that the game isn't done yet but from these betas/engine tests we are getting a good glimpse at what the
